Description
Rent a bike in Hamburg.
Whether you are a working person, a leisure time person or a tourist, with StadtRAD Hamburg you can rent a bike at any time, cheaply and flexibly.
Everywhere in the city you will find a station where you can rent and return a bike around the clock. In the "Normal", "HVV" or "BahnCard"-tariff the first 30 minutes of each ride are free of charge. In addition to our StadtRÄDERN, you will also find cargo pedelecs at selected stations for big shopping trips and for your children!
With our app, you can rent a bike, view your personal opening code and redeem voucher codes. You can keep an eye on the costs in your bookings at all times.
So what are you waiting for? Register directly via the app and you can hop on and start cycling.

Berlin: since November 2022 return of Bikes only possible at stations.
We will now inform you in the app and by text message if you have returned a bike outside a station. Then you have 5 minutes to decide whether you
- want to continue the ride and park the bike at a station
- or simply pause your ride.
After 5 minutes left, we will charge a service fee of minimum 10 € for returning a bike outside a station.
Ratings and Reviews
It’s great, when it works
Far too often I open the app and get errors like “this feature not available right now” and it’s unusable. This isn’t what you want to see when you’re standing at the bike rack. How long are you supposed to wait around refreshing? Another common error “renting is not possible right now” with no explanation. It’s getting to the point where I’m not even trying to use the bikes anymore.
Lots of bugs, but useful
My account suddenly stopped working through the app. Support said it was an app problem. There haven't been updates to the app in a year...
When rotating the screen, the screens sometimes get stuck.
Bikes show up where sometimes there are none.
Otherwise, I use this all the time to rent and return bikes all over Hamburg.
Works for Berlin too.
Terrible app I couldn’t even register
I couldn’t register on the app or online. I had to call to finish my registration. Then once I got my account information the login failed and called 3 separate times for help and they couldn’t get it to work. They said “the website must be broken” and had no way to resolve my issue. Why even have an app or website if it’s not going to work?
