Our aim has always been to deliver a beginner-friendly app accurate and flexible enough to meet the requirements of seasoned musicians. 8 years later and with more than half of million satisfied customers, version 3 brings us closer to this goal.
Cadenza is powered by state-of-the-art, highly performant algorithms. The tuner’s pitch range goes from A0 to A8, while having a response latency below one millisecond. The metronome can run steady between 20 and 300 beats per minute.
The user interface
We approached usability with simplicity and coherence in mind, allowing our users to focus on what matters by decluttering each design element as much as possible. Cadenza’s user interface adapts itself to various screen sizes and orientations, which means it’s easier than ever to use it on any of your devices.
Our app won’t drain your battery, that’s a promise. We invested a lot of time in designing it to be as energy-efficient as possible.
Powerful and flexible for advanced musicians
For the advanced users, we offer Equal, Just and Pythagorean temperament, transposition, and various display-related settings.
Friendly with beginners
Cadenza comes with a comprehensive tutorial and user guide to help those who start their musical journey with us and never used a tuner or metronome before.
* added pitch pipe (drone)

One of the best apps of its kind. But DRAINS BATTERY!!!
Really this is one of the best apps of its kind.
BUT, it stays alive in the background forever. Settings->Battery usage showed I used his app for 10 minutes in the last 24 hours and it was active for 12 hours and used 40% of my battery. This should be fixed!!! (On iPhone 5S, iOS 10.2.1 - thanks for the response from the developer but no contact info and website link is a generic page.)
Only other suggestion is when I'm tapping in time to estimate the BPM, you should show the average over the last 10 taps or so. It will help get a much more precise estimate of the music speed.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for reporting this. I'll look into it. Can you email me your iOS version and iPhone model. Thanks again!
Update issue- giving 2 stars so it’ll get fixed
I love Cadenza. If I’m being honest, my real rating is probably closer to 3.8 stars. But there’s a horrible problem with the metronome subdivisions. As an experienced drummer this was easy to pick up on: there is a lag in the eighth note click, and the sixteenth note click (depending on which you choose), right after beat 1.
I’m still going to use the app, but this problem is going to drive me nuts, so I’m going to practice with just the quarter note clicks. The tuning feature is amazing, and other than this problem I love the metronome. I love the new layout too, I just have never practiced with a lagged click before and I don’t think it’s a good idea to start. I hope this gets fixed soon! Even if it isn’t, I’ll keep the app on my iPhone, but no one likes limited options these days.
Used to be wonderful
I used the old cadenza app for years and found it extremely useful. I am an amateur cellist and used it constantly when practicing. Now I can hardly read it and it seems less responsive to pitches. It seems to lag behind. You can’t be squinting at tiny images in black and white that are not easy to interpret while trying to work at practicing. Give me back the old app! I totally regret doing the update.
