Cute but long

My Granddaughter loves Elmo, and will sit for 30 minutes to watch, repeatedly, a recording of the Elmo's World portion of Sesame Street. However, she lost interest in this book before we got to the end. She liked it at the beginning, but it was too long for her when we took time to play on every page. She was familiar with all the characters in the story and could name them. The creators could learn a lesson from the writers of old folk tales, and, more recently, the creators of Dora the Explorer: everything happens in threes (i.e. the 3 bears, 3 little pigs, 3 billy goats gruff, etc.), and show only 3 of the guests choosing 3 presents, and then have Elmo open 3 different presents to keep the element of surprise in the story. It will probably be better when she is learning to read for herself.

Great children's book

This is a prime example of how to make a great children's book. I especially like that you can tap on every word to hear it again to help teach all the words. The select definitions are great too, and the games are solid. The repetitive voice encouraging you to turn the page is a bit annoying when trying to teach your child the individual words, though.

Perfectly fun for toddler!

My 15 month old grandson, who is a huge Sesame Street fan, was completely involved with this book. He sat through the story cuddled in my lap and interacted with all the pages, as I helped him press the pages and make the story come alive. This is really a fun and adorable interactive book that will delight the child in everyone. Read by Bob, from Sesame Street, you feel like you are part of the story!
