Editors’ Notes

Sure, there are skateboarding games that let you pull 900s from telephone wires, then land in a manual, collecting millions of points. But when you want realism and complexity, you want True Skate. For years, True Axis’ skateboarding simulator has been letting us ollie, grind, and kickflip with our fingers. Competing with your friends, scouting gaps, and completing missions is great fun, but the true reward is perfecting a line and nailing incredible tricks with just the right swipes.

Great game

True skate is a very fun, easy to learn mobile skating game, I would recommend this game to any skater that can’t find a good skating game for mobile. I think this game is worth the price except for two thing. One, you can play this game for a while but after a week or two of playing a lot, you get bored of the starting map but you are forced to pay more money for a game that already costed you money, although all the extra maps are good, you have to pay for something in game even though you already payed for the game, which is very annoying. Two, unless this is just me, or it’s an actual bug for everyone, or this is something that the developers added to the game purposefully for some reason, I honk it needs to be fixed ASAP. Every time that I crash or something like that, my board basically stops working and starts being very hard to move around and do tricks with and starts being very floppy, every time I move it starts bumping up and down like something is there, and it is very annoying and I restart my game every time it starts because it is basically impossible to do a trick successfully. Apart from these two things though, this game is very fun

Cash grab update

Bits (TC) now max out at 199 per line? An 80,000 point line now gets you the same amount of money as 40,000 point line. The whole scale at which points are awarded seems to be an inverse exponential, which basically means that if you are trying to grind for bits efficiently, you shouldn’t even bother with playing the game well anymore. I cant remember what the scaling was like before the update, but I remember earning a lot more tc than I do now. And of course, the change comes at the same time that the diy feature comes out. The diy feature doesn’t do much, but if you do want to play around with it a bit you'll have to either complete the terrible missions this game surprisingly still has (copying other people’s skating with no room for personal style is not skating), or pay to skip all 37 of them to unlock all the new stuff. Before, it wouldn’t be too hard to grind out some TC and skip the missions, but now you’re incentivized to either suffer through them or pay money for bits. Kinda lame.

Also, this game is still awful at keeping track of your best line scores on a map. I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten a really good score only to check the leaderboard and see that it didn't upload. Maybe scores need to be recorder offline or something. Not sure if you guys were aware of that issue but its been one for years now.
