Description

This is a simple tool to survey distance on foot. The distance is calculated by using GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System). A survey result (tracking data) can be checked with an iOS map and is recyclable by file sharing.

About settings:
Remove Ads - It removes ads to use in-app purchase, and shows a toolbar.
Units - meter, international foot, or U.S. survey foot.
Distance calculation methods - iOS Default, Haversine, Hubeny (Simple Formula), Bowring, or Hubeny (Original). Bowring's method is the best accuracy.
Reference Ellipsoid - WGS84 or GRS80.
GNSS Accuracy - It specifies the range of error to allow.
Automatic Shut Off - If you do not move for about 5 minutes, surveying will be stopped automatically.
Do Not Use Thumbnail - It does not display thumbnails.
Use Light Mode for Maps - The map is displayed in light mode even if you are using dark mode.

Notice:
Continued use of GNSS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Worked better than I expected

I’m doing wind sprints on a desert trail and wanted to measure the distance I am sprinting each time. I used the app to measure in meters and it ranged between 121.5 and 122.2 meters. Seems to be consistent and accurate.

For shorter distances it varies wildly.

Perfect for long distances

I used it to measure a property that was about 467 feet long in the app and with a rough measurement using a tape measure. I was able to calculate the app was only off by 5-10 feet off which isn’t much in terms of long distances,
