Hearing with background noise present in Restaurants or train/subway stations can be difficult for some. So, this App will test if you can hear sounds with background noise present - as well as in quiet situations. There's even a short questionnaire to test your knowledge of hearing.
By displaying your results in a graph (Audiogram) and showing you an explanation of your results in text, it will help you determine if you have a hearing impairment.
You may then email your Audiogram and test results to yourself - or a friend - for printing.
It auto-saves your test too, in case you're interrupted while testing... So you don't have to go back to the beginning and start all over again...
This App allows you to test on 3 levels:
1. Hearing Sensitivity is used to determine the quietest sounds you can hear.
2. Hearing in Noise is a measurement of your ability to hear sounds in the presence of noise.
3. The Questionnaire is a series of questions regarding your performance in common listening situations.
If you do detect a hearing loss, seek the advice of a Hearing Care Professional. There are over 4,000 Hearing Care Professionals listed in this App, by distance or by A to Z search, view maps, GPS enabled, "Find Around Me" feature.
People can generally hear sounds with frequencies between 20 Hz and 20,000 Hz, although this range varies with age and gender. Most people can no longer hear 20,000 Hz by the time they are teenagers and they progressively lose the ability to hear higher frequencies as they get older.
Test your friends and family too, including your parents.
If you detect a hearing loss, don't feel bad. Partial hearing loss is quite common.

Ratings and Reviews
The text within the test was very informative yet I feel as if my results were based on the questionnaire, not the actual hearing portion. It also said that I have great hearing loss in one of my but I don't believe that to be true as I have never had a problem with hearing in either my ears. Also, the app crashed several times causing mento restart the test.
I could hear all the sounds, and answered the questions truthfully (but it is obvious which answers point toward loss of hearing). If I can hear knocks, follow conversations, hear silverware being placed on a table, don't have to ask people to repeat themselves, don't have trouble following phone conversations, don't have people telling me I have trouble hearing, my ears don't hurt and don't have fluid running from them, my balance is fine, and my hearing is largely unchanged over the last 90 days, I should probably score over 16%. So... that seems a little off.
Thank you for this app!!!
I have been telling my father for years that he needs to get his hearing checked but he refused to do it. By chance I found this app today and I got him to take the test. The app showed that he had moderate hearing loss in one ear and severe hearing loss in the other. So finally he is going to get his hearing checked. Thank you for this app - maybe now I won't have to yell every time I talk to my father!
