LENS SIMULATION
Leica LUX brings the world of Leica to your iPhone by imitating a variety of legendary Leica lenses. You can explore the unique world of Leica lenses, each offering its own image style. Lens simulations include classics – such as the Summilux-M 28mm f/1.4 ASPH. and the Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.2 ASPH. – the app is continuously being expanded to include additional lenses. The custom software engine also creates bokeh quality images, a style synonymous with Leica photography, directly in your iPhone.
ICONIC LEICA LOOKS
Leica LUX is based on Leica's own renowned colour science and offers the same colour corrections and film presets used in Leica cameras. These include Leica Looks such as Leica Classic, Leica Contemporary, Leica Black & White and Leica Vivid. Ratings and Reviews
A perfect camera app
I’ve tried various camera apps over the years and this one is a luxury to use. This review is for the non Pro version which I will look into purchasing in the near future.
The photos immediately are well adjusted and filtered to look great. The iPhone camera app does take great photos but you would still need to edit your photos where as the Leica photos look fantastic when finished. I consider myself to be a very good photo editor and yet I am very impressed with the Leica photos.
Great job!
Great but slow
I love the features of this app and the different filters and camera controls it offers. The only thing that needs improvement is the cameras response time. As a street photographer, I want to be able to capture instant moments as they occur and take multiple shots. I can’t do that with this app because of the slow response time once I press the shutter button. So for now, I will use this app for still photography when I don’t have my Leica camera available.
No integration
I was an early adopter of the Fjorden Grip and loved their free Fjorden camera app. Recently, Leica that invented 35 mm photography and Leica cameras in the 1920’s, bought Fjorden! The only integration so far is using these apps volume control as a shutter release. I have found the best image results from this camera app and hoped integration with the Fjorden Grip would have happened already, but it has not. I’m paying $6.99 monthly for the app, hoping they finish the integration before I tire and move on.
