The indie horror classic gets a big anniversary update! Home is a unique horror adventure set in a beautifully-realized pixel world. It’s a murder mystery with a twist—because you decide what ultimately happens. ******* 4.5 out of 5 stars — TouchArcade PG Silver Award — PocketGamer ******* Awakened by an oncoming storm, you open your eyes to discover yourself in a strange, dark room—tucked away in a house that’s not yours. As you play the game, it changes—subtly, almost imperceptibly—to reflect your perspective. It's a horror game unlike any other, and as you'll discover, its truths are entirely subjective. ******* FEATURES: - an intimate, story-based adventure that you control - a horrific mystery tale where your decisions matter - a creepy soundtrack that brings you deep into the world - gorgeous, illustrative pixel style ******* CRITICAL ACCLAIM: "A sophisticated, horrifying narrative experiment." — The Verge "Keeps you intellectually engaged even when you aren't playing it." — Gamespot "Leaves one mulling its final moments well after the credits have rolled." — Torontoist

Interesting but too creative for its own good (mild spoilers)

The Stig, Some say…
Home is a good game conceptually but spins too wide and open of a web to really capture my imagination. At the end you are left with essentially no reward for everything you did other than more confusion. I suppose their is a literary style that this is based on but the best authors like Poe still manage to capture your imagination, your horror, your mind and give you the finish. So in the end you are left with just your thoughts here instead. And there is no possible story which fits all the variables provided within. Please continue to write though. The App Store needs more unique tales like this. One suggestion to the player: definitely try and dedicate time to this start to finish. A lot gets lost if you play it 30 mins at a time. Good luck!

The only problem I’m running into is it keeps freezing and I can’t go past the rusty ladder under water. Anyway to fix it freezing?

I like puzzle, horror, and pixel games and was pretty excited about Home. An hour and a half later, I’m wishing I didn’t spend my money on it. The story is at its most interesting about halfway through, before taking a random, confusing, and uninspired turn at the end. The way that the story ends leaves you with no answers and not enough curiosity or investment to go looking. It feels like the plot of the game was never actually decided, so it goes in a dozen different directions- not in an exciting, choose-your-own-adventure way, but in a way that drains all emotion from the story. Since there’s nothing in the way of a concrete storyline, there’s nothing for the player get attached to or curious about. I think I know what the developers were going for, but the game is just...flat.

Subtle Amazement

Not sure of what to expect, I put on the headphones, sat in the dark with black light and my wine, and started this up. Absolutely worth it. I didn’t stop until I finished it. A few years later I decided I had to give it another go. This is a game where storytelling, ambience, and the possibilities of changing the horrible events of our lives can be so simply and beautifully expressed in pixels. 10 out of 5.
