Grand Canyon National Park Geology Tour is a photographic tour of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon with an emphasis on the geology. Written and narrated by geologist Deborah Ragland, Ph.D. with photographs and illustrations by Dennis Tasa, the app gives insight into the geology of one of America’s most spectacular parks and the surrounding region: the Colorado Plateau.
View the Grand Canyon in a new light. Not only will you look down from high elevations to the river below, but you will also look through time. Learn why the rocks display those magnificent colors, find out how the interesting pinnacles and buttes formed, study the different rock layers and their ages, and more.
Either as a supplement to your visit or as a planning tool, Grand Canyon National Park Geology Tour provides an extensive description of the geology of the park. The app is completely self-contained—you can actually use it in the park! No internet connection required. Listen to the narration as you visit the overlooks or hike the trails, study the photos and illustrations before your visit, or just take a virtual trip.

Ratings and Reviews
A very good app!
A very educational app on the geology of the Grand Canyon! Well illustrated but there also lies the rub. Many pictures cannot be zoomed in on making for an inconsistent user experience. They have the resolution. You should be able to zoom in on all pictures, illustrations and maps. What geologist looks at things from afar (except for exo-planetary geologists)? Over 130 pages with pop pictures, maps and illustrations. Otherwise it is excellent. Four stars.
