I remember seeing photos with single color and rest black and white preserved on postcards. You can create those with this app. But the interface and design of the app seems a little dated. It is bit hard to use.
Fresh new look for New Color
The new interface is clean and easy to find the tools. Now when you pick a color a bar at the top lights up to show it as you set the color boundaries. Neat idea.
I sometimes forget to use the save-color button to keep the other colors from changing the rest of the image. But because colorizing is fast it’s easy for me to just go back and add it then process it again. It’s fun turning my cats all different colors for the holidays.
Promising but nearly unusable
Downloaded app onto iPad Mini 4. Watched the tutorial which is short, clear, and to the point. Loaded in a photo, drew some lines, and colorized it. Looked great!
It was a photo with low contrast between my target and the background (yellow toy on wood table with yellow sofa and brown rug in background) but Colorize did an admirable job on first attempt.
Unfortunately none of the other buttons on the menu worked. I could not Hide Lines, Erase, etc. I had to save the image and go to Camera Roll to see the edited photo (there was some leakage which would have been easy to fix if only the menu worked.)
Hoping this app is updated and fixed.
Developer Response ,
I am very sorry to hear about about the issue you are encountering and have only heard of it once before, but I would like to solve it. Would you mind sharing some additional information with me through firstname.lastname@example.org. If you could go to your settings screen, select general, select about, and take a screenshot that would help give me more info about the device, and if you would do the same for me with the app from the edit page that would help me as well. As for the actual failure, if you select the zoom button, does the zoom button change from white to black.
Again, I apologize for the problem, but thank you for the feedback that can help me to fix it.
My apologies for the very long delay in response. I was finally able to track down the issue that most people seem to have been having and it looks like it was related to older IOS versions. So I have updated the application to only support 12.1 and above but again apologize for your inconvenience.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
