Description
iROANOKE is a new mobile application offered by the City of Roanoke, VA that provides citizens with an easy way to report a service request to City staff for action and resolution. The app allows you to report concerns such as potholes, missed trash collections, street hazards, illegal dumping, hazardous spills, and a host of other issues. It enables you to pinpoint the issue location with GPS, attach photos from your mobile device, and receive automatic notifications of status updates as your requests are handled. Citizens may also view local attractions through Yelp (an on-line urban guide), review City news and events, link directly to the City’s Facebook page and Twitter feed, and view information from the City’s website.

Great idea, poor execution
Opened the app and it immediately crashed. On my second launch it functioned long enough to show it doesn’t really do anything (yet). I hope they add more to it. I love this city. So far it only really directs you to yelp or Roanoke's social media pages. Not really worth the 10mb of storage on my phone as an app.
I’d love for it to give me emergency updates and trash service notifications. Or maybe local news, info about events, farmers markets, Craigslist style place to locally sell things, etc. A resource that benefits the community in a world that’s increasingly global. 2 out of 5 Mill Mt. Stars. :(
This app is a joke
Obviously no one who works for the city or was elected by its citizens have ever used this app on a mobile device. It is an absolute joke! Come on Roanoke….,you can do better than this!!
Great way to request citizen services and interact easily w/ local government
Allowing an easy way to put in request for everything from breaks in the sidewalk, potholes, other hazards where you can upload pictures straight from the app. You can also look Whats around you and interact with city social media from the app.
