WARNING - Useful but dangerous

If you plug your iDiskk device in before opening the app, a box will pop up asking permission for this app to contact its development site in China.
The app works very well without it and if you allow communication back to the developer they will have access to everything you allow the app access to on your device. They may have access to a great deal more, as well.
This is not saying that they have evil plans for your data, and there is nothing necessarily more nefarious about Chinese developers -- no one is more intrusive with respect to your data than Apple itself, other than Google, Facebook ... well, almost all of them.
It is a useful tool. It has worked well for me so far, but it has built-in hidden dangers. All powerful tools are dangerous. But. as with most web tools, with this one the blade is hidden until you cut yourself unless you are paying attention.

The simplest way to protect yourself is to bring the app up first, then plug in your device.

Also, check in your device's configuration tools frequently to see who has access to what and block anything you don't absolutely need.

Super flash drive for photo transfer

I read reviews before buying all the time. This flash drive - iDiskk for iPhone was in the top 5 reviews and after reading Pro and Cons comparisons on flash drives I went with the iDiskk 128G. I downloaded this app to my iphone and inserted the flash drive and I am extremely happy with the speed and how easy it was to transfer my iPhone photos to the flash drive and then flash drive to my computer. Wish I had done this a long time ago. I’m confused at all the reviews in the App Store saying this app is not could??? This is the best app and flash drive. I have already sent information to my friends who have been wanting to do this also.

Hard to organize

I eagerly got this drive thinking it would solve my storage issues. So I got the app, plugged the drive in and started transferring photos and documents. I created several folders. In transferring some of the photos, I got them in the wrong place. No problem, I’ll just move them, right? Wrong! After numerous attempts, like lots of them, to move photos into my appropriate folders, I decided I have better things to waste my time on. If you are super organized AND super careful, you can probably make it work for you UNTIL you make that one mistake. Then have fun trying to correct it. You’ll sooner or later discover you have better things to waste your time on. A word to the wise should be sufficient.
