The scheduler is not ideal. You cannot cross the midnight hour. So if your ISP is best between 10 and 6 at night, you have to choose to just use 12 to 6, for example. Luckily this doesn't create many problems for me, but it is not ideal. The estimated time to download completion is almost useless. A five minute estimate might take an hour, or vice versa, and seems largely unrelated to download speeds. And the developer hasn't been around to make an update for five or six years, so even if you get the Pro upgrade (which is definitely faster if you have good broadband since it opens so many more similtaneous connections) I can't imagine how one gets support. The link to the developers web site is dead and there is no other contact info.SOOOOO, why four stards anyway? Well, it has a fine and fully funcitonal FREE version. It works better than just about any other free version on the app store. And the upgraded version is a cheap upgrade and works even better. So it is far from perfect but it is the best option on the app store. I am super surprised Apple hasn't pulled it due to lack of updates, but I'm glad to still have access.
Everything is perfect except that the “Find” option is deactivated so no file can be search within the downloaded files.
This is truly one of the best third-party apps I've got on my computer! Not to say that iDownloader is the best and fastest (OK, if not fastest, then the most optimistic) free download manager! But, sadly, the latest update was a long time ago - 6 years! With the latest OS versions, the app would greatly benefit from a UI change, including more features, such as a download indicatior in the Dock (like in Google Chrome.)
it is faster but the numbers on it are not true they are a little exagerated when you compare the actual downloaded data to the speed. it overall does download faster though and i am happy
I love iDownloader. I regularly use VPNs and iDownloader is the only download manager I could find that downloads files pretty quickly while using a VPN.Also, far less issues with idownloader than with other download managers.
everything is nice and beautiful. well done, but there is some options that not everyone needs it, such as: Proxy setting. Thanks
It was better if we had the pop up on our brower to auto start instead of adding it each time. The rest is perfect.
it just save a lot of time of mine
no way to control a download entry after adding it. Freezes randomly... wasted time adding all my items only to freeze when starting. using PD instead.
It does a terrible job at recognizing videos on a page and instead will output random file types despite there only being an Mp4 on the webpage. The authentication does not work either.
I needed to download a compressed file, tryed the payed version, but it doesnt work. In comparison with DOwnload Shuttle, which is a free version, and did the job. I will not recommend paying for this app.
This is just to help you download, or schedule a download. If you are looking for something to scrape a download site and grab, this is not it.
