In this version, the HP48 takes center stage, seamlessly integrated from the moment of installation via the App Store. Other versions remain accessible through the creation wizard in the main menu.

Numerous code fixes have been implemented in this version, many of which are imperceptible to the end user.

For devoted users of the classic HP48GX, this is the ultimate calculator experience. Everything else is merely optional.

Fantastic !

I bought a HP 48 years after leaving college during which time I used a 15 and 41cx with card reader, even got into synthetic programming. Although I program PCs for work and fun, I still remember the excitement those little machines gave me during college years, dare I admit my ultra-geek status. HP really knew how to make quality calculators back then.

I recently re-powered my 48 long enough to re learn some things, but tried taking it apart to fix the famous rubber strip keyboard problem. Not good, cracked the screen and warped the keyboard. I thought I was screwed.

Then I downloaded this free program. Wow, I am shocked how close this emulator is to the real thing! I’m going to go though my 48 owners manual and see if I can reignite that college flame, it’s on medium right now.

Excellent so far

Update - not changing my star rating, but I’m not a fan of the new logo. It looks like other HP calculator logos and it’s harder to find on the screen. Seems like it may be temporary, just to comply with IP, but I’d encourage you to dig deep and come up with something distinctive and cool.

Like many here I was an m48+ fan and have been bereft ever since it was pulled and was forced to use alternatives. I always miss-hit the numbers such that the other programs were difficult to use. I never had that problem with m48+. Looking forward to more time on the app, but this seems to have big numbers to hit the target. Thanks for leaving the contribute link in the other comments.

I need a new icon...

Fantastic HP48gx emulator

I actually own and still use a real HP48gx, arguably one of the best hand held calculators ever made. This emulator is very faithful to the real thing. I actually downloaded and imported all of my programs from my real HP48gx to this emulator without problems. The emulator does have a few bugs. It crashes on occasion with an invalid address exception and it doesn’t retain its state after shutdown and restart. Both are minor issues.

Update: I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it now saves its state across shutdown and startup again. I also reimported all of my programs and libraries from my real HP48GX.

Thanks for your help, actually I'm aware of some misterious memory allocation errors, but still cant isolate them to correct the issue... Hope to have the time to solve this issue, but as you say, when debuging the bug disapears, so it's hard to solve.
