Love Kiva, but very poor app
The most important info to make this a useful app is strangely missing: why doesn't profile show how much credit you have?? In this info can be obtained anywhere in this app, it is definitely not in any user friendly manner. I would love to be able to check my loans at a touch and reloan the moment I am able... Why wouldn't this be facilitated? Please address this.
How to Access Your Account
I believe this is why some users are having problems accessing their Kiva accounts -- the first screen asks for your "Lender ID." This is not the ID you use to log in to the Kiva website; nor is it your Kiva screen name.
If you touch the ? (to the right and slightly above the login field) you 'll get a brief explanation and a Safari link to the Kiva website. After you log in to your account on the website, your "Lender ID" displays. You can select and copy your ID, then go back to the iKiva app and paste it in the "Lender ID" field. You now have access to your portfolio, groups, etc.
I haven't had the app long enough to evaluate all the features, but from my first brief look, it will make it easier to help others succeed.
Great cause, poor app
Kiva's app pages don't fit in my iPhone screen and there's no scroll bar to move back & forth. Also never had to "log in" it just sought out my Facebook - which is fine, I guess, just not how I prefer to access an app. Finally, I had a few dollars left over that I was going to donate to Kiva's operating costs, but there was no selection for that. Thankfully I'd kept my email and made my loan that way, still wouldn't take my odd-amount donation. C'mon, Kiva's, that's how 501(c)3s stay afloat! Please continue to work on your app, much more likely to continue loaning funds this way, as I detest email.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
