This improves scrolling speed (after they’re generated) and allows you to see what the images look like if they go missing. Note that thumbnails are not generated until the assets are scrolled into view (in thumbnail view) or selected so the thumbnail shows at the bottom of the window in detail view. -Beautified format of numbers in a couple places. -Prevent new untitled documents from appearing when it's already restoring documents on launch.

-Found a more reliable way to find existing known folders in the catalog, which deals with the odd multiplying folders in the Manage Folders window. -Added Find->Find Next Missing Asset menu item, since missing items can't be found with the normal Find feature. -Updated project to modern Xcode settings and such.

-Prevent empty embedded keywords from being added. Whodathunk that some other app would actually allow an empty keyword to be added to a file in the first place?! -Added ability to export to tab–separated text files, giving the user full control over which fields they’ll get. (There ya go, LJ!) -Renamed menu item to Import from XML… to ensure that nobody thinks they can import from tab–separated text files.

-In addition to looking for macOS tags, Image Chest now also looks for embedded keywords in the IPTC data. There are different checkboxes in the Add Assets dialogs and different application properties in the AppleScript dictionary, but the menu item has been changed to copy both types to Keywords; “Copy OS Tags and Embedded Keywords to Keywords”.

-Added Export/Import menu items. -Added "file" property to "asset" in AppleScript dictionary. -Added Help menu. It opens the same ReadMe that's on the web site. -Added Key Commands Cheat Sheet menu item to Help menu. -Added "Copy OS tags to keywords" checkbox to Add Assets dlog, so any OS tags in files will be automatically added to the assets as keywords. -Updated Read Me to explain a few more things.

-Adding more than 32k assets at once caused values in the progress window to go negative. -Switching to another app while assets are being added could cause Image Chest to lock up under some conditions. I've fixed that wagon. Thanks, MV!

-The following attributes are now stored for assets: whether or not it’s color, orientation, pixel dimensions, view dimensions, and a 2nd note. —==«« Each .chest you open will be updated to include these new attributes, meaning all available assets will be scanned to ascertain these values. »»==— Missing assets will *not* be able to update these values, obviously. Once they are available, simply add them again, which will update all attributes. -Horizontal scrollbar in Details view is now available, since there are now so many more columns to show. -Re–opening a document will now restore the last known find results instead of always showing all assets. -Since not showing all assets on re–open might be confusing to some, I’ve added a little icon that shows the current state: both eyes open = all assets, one eye open = filtered assets. -Added Prefs window so you can set the time between checking for missing folders. It was 10 seconds before, which could use a lot of resources every 10 seconds for enormous folders, especially on remote volumes.

-Added menu items for copying the selected assets’ keywords to OS tags, and OS tags to keywords. For those cases when you want the keywords to travel along with your files. Neither command removed keywords or tags from the catalog or files, it simply adds whatever isn’t already there to the destination. -Fixed rare crash when closing documents.

-Fix update problems after renaming assets when a Find filter is being used. -OK, peer pressure got to me. The Find button below the Keywords list now has the key equiv command-option-f.

-When trashing files, handle files on volumes that can't be trashed but are deleted immediately. -Limit number of thumbnail threads to prevent raw files from overwhelming the OS.

-Fixed Set Note window so it works when you click the OK button with the mouse instead of just smacking the return/enter key. -Improve the default table drag image so it shows ALL columns, not just the clicked one (which can be empty if you clicked the missing or note column). -Fixed Trash Files, so the UI does a better job of knowing that assets really have been removed from the catalog.

-The Set Note sheet is now resizable and the text will wrap. -Restored double-clicking to open assets in thumbnail view. -Added toolbar button for toggling between thumbnails and details views. -Fixed drag & drop so you can once again drag assets from Image Chest to other apps. -Respond to command-up, command-down, and their shifted versions in thumbnails and details views. -Added contextual menu to details table header so individual columns can be hidden. This state is saved in the document. -Added Copy Keywords menu item to copy the selected assets' keywords, or to copy the selected keywords. Huge time saver!

-Replaced deprecated Apple image browser with a more modern replacement. -Added support for themes (Dark Mode). -Added EXIF window to show an item's basic info plus any embedded EXIF data. -Improved Rename Files window to offer more options. -Fix crashes in newer OSes when adding assets. -Improve type–selection in both detail and icon views. -Added Set Note menu item for editing notes in 1 or more assets. -If a folder was previously known to a catalog, even though all assets from it have been removed, you will no longer be asked for permission to use that folder when you drag in a file from it. This always bugged the heck outa Dina and me. -Added basic AppleScript support for adding assets and using keywords. -Folder resolution now allows UI if needed. This will help for users who use remote volumes. -Since old crusty NFS mounts go "duh" when a creation date is asked for, missing creation dates now default to the mod date. (BB23) -Changed progress from sheet to palette, because it can be annoying to have to close the sheet after every drag & drop into a chest. -A new Sort By menu item is now available; Do Not Sort. This allows you to drag the assets around to rearrange them willy nilly. The sort order is saved in the file. This also requires existing .chest files to be upgraded when opened. It also meant ripping out a lot of code and using something newer. (BB21.2) -In addition, another new menu item, Assimilate Current Sorting, will set the currently visible assets to use the current sort order. They will appear in that order when the View->Sort By is changed to Do Not Sort, giving you a known sort order to start from. -Optimize missing folder/asset checking so the app checks all folders in a chest every 5 seconds for changes. -Added Deselect All menu item. -Save and restore window state in document. -Added Omit Selected Assets menu item and a special keyword that will appear in every document. This is very useful when a Find still shows too many files and you just want to remove some of them from the current set of filtered assets. All other find operations will clear the keyword from all assets before doing the find operation. -Customized size predicate editor in Find dialog by adding popup for choosing byte multiplier. -Handle pointing one folder to another existing folder in Manage Folders, so the 2 merge into 1. -Set Key Equiv window no longer lets key equivs go to the Keywords menu when you're trying to set one.

Rebuilt with Xcode 7.3.1 to correct Xcode 8 bug of thumbnail view automatically and uncontrollably scrolling to the bottom.
