Description

When you do remote work it’s easy to miss a simple calendar notification and be late for video calls. You need a reminder IN YOUR FACE.

This app is especially valuable for people who are diagnosed with ADHD and struggling with focus issues. It makes it impossible to ignore a meeting notification because it interrupts your workflow.

It’s also highly valued by professionals who work remotely and tend to get into deep-focus state, like developers or designers.

Don’t let your focus problems and ADHD get in the way of productivity. Immerse yourself in deep work without having to check your agenda every once in a while.

Unavoidable reminder for the easily distracted!

I'm a software engineer with attention issues, especially prone to hyperfocussing on technical work. I might know I have a meeting coming up in a few minutes, decide to quickly look into a technical task, and only realize 30 minutes later that I have missed most of the meeting. I've lost track of time and left friends waiting for an hour or more. Basically, I need a tool that can force me to understand that time is passing, not just pop a tiny alert in the corner of my screen.

In Your Face is great for this. I've been using it for a week and already I've noticed that I frequently hit 'snooze' on the one minute warning for meetings, and am SHOCKED at how little time seems to have passed when the 1 minute snooze is over. Those are all meetings I would have been several minutes late for, or forgetten altogether.

The configuration is carefully thought out - not too much complexity but powerful enough for me to make sure my "focus time" calendar blocks don't trigger alerts. So far, I have left on IYF alerts for my "Hold for lunch" blocks, because that's one that I all too frequently ignore until it's too late to eat before the next meeting.

You Really Have to Work to Miss Meetings with This One

Sometimes you miss calendar notifications. At the 10 minute alert before a meeting, you are faced with jumping on really early, or waiting and potentially being late to a meeting because you missed the second notification because you are wrapped up in, oh, let's say a really interesting spreadsheet. InYourFace makes sure you don't have to wait in the virtual lobby for what feels like ages OR miss that snoozed alert and scramble to be late because (once again speaking theoretically and NOY from personal experience) you were rapt with a cool research project.
I would give this five stars once they get a handle on consistency with multi-screen. I have three (laptop and two external) and it varies where that warning lands. You can, however, make it be on ALL screens at once.

Developer Response ,

Hi! Thank you very much for your review. The reminder is displayed on the currently active screen, i.e. the screen with the currently active window. Therefore it can vary where you actually see it.
