Instagram 12+

Whats up developers, 13 year IG veteran here. Hope all is well. I have two questions for you. (1.) Would you enforce us to make pancakes without flour if you discovered gluten-free methods were becoming popular? (2.) Would you eradicate the usage of all pens or pencils just because we now have the keyboard? No. I’m sure you wouldn’t. As a matter of fact, I believe you would provide us with the option to decide. The rectangular grid system is uprooting a fundamental element that made IG what it was. Remember back in the day when IG filters came with a SQUARE frame option? In the grand scheme of things, this is obviously a 1st world problem, but in regards to making the decision to keep the rectangular system, I’ve noticed that even you haven’t made your mind up. You’ve changed it back and forth several times, and of my two profiles, sometimes one of them has a square profile grid, and the other has rectangle, and that’s just from me toggling from one to the other in the same minute. I believe a rectangle display works as a fantastic method for displaying IG Reels, but I think we can all agree that squares are a foundational display method. I would suggest maybe adding an option in the settings menu so users, like myself, have the option to display a rectangular or square profile feed at their own discretion. Hope this helps.

I have paid to verify both my instagram and my Facebook. When I go through the identification process it stops me at the two factor authentication. I have this both enabled on my Facebook and my Instagram. I have every authentication enabled from phone, to authentication app, to what’s app etc. it still does not detect it’s turned on. When I turned it off and back on it asked to verify my name and profile photo. I do then I get an error that says “page isn’t available right now. This may be because of a technical error that we’re working on to get fixed. Try reloading the page.” I reload and the same error occurs and I have to force quit the app to get instagram to open again. I have shook my phone so many times and reported the error and attached screenshots and the issue still remains. I keep getting messages on instagram please verify your identity to finish signing up for meta verified but your app won’t let me. There is no way to talk to customer support when you’re trying to sign up. You can only talk once you’re signed up. That’s unhelpful. If you’re trying to generate revenue have a place where people who want to pay to get verified receive customer service help. You’re loosing revenue because your system is not working for people who want to sign up for meta verification.

Instagram has been my preferred choice of social media for about 5-6 years now but lately it has become almost unbearable to use. It has gotten the full "Facebookifacation" of the platform. Nearly everything on your feed is either an ad or a "suggested for you" post. Of those you follow, you might see their content every 4-5th post on your feed. This isn't "connecting with friends" or "expanding community" anymore, it's strictly content to keep you on the platform scrolling till you find something to either zone out about or get angry over. I wish there was a way to turn off "Meta Ai" and all "suggested content" but they won't be doing that since that's how they're gobbling up billions of dollars and syphoning information off their users. It's really turning into an unusable, boring, low info app just like every other failed social media platform. I anticipate that pretty soon most of the users will be Ai and bots because there's very little to no true human connection happening on any of the Meta platforms (a problem along all social media platforms but ESPECIALLY bad with Meta since Facebook has all he problems I've laid out just on steroids.) This has been my review, Mark if you're reading this, let people opt out of Meta Ai, let them turn off suggested posts and your platform would instantly be MUCH more usable and engaging, you can still run your plethora of Ads and gobble up your billions that way.
