Description

This is a simple Circle of Fifths app that sits in your menu bar for easy access.

I always wanted a way to quickly reference the Circle of Fifths while playing the piano or writing music so I decided to make this app.

Just click on a root note to display its scales, signature and piano roll. No need to switch windows to go back and forth between your DAW and other reference apps.

It can also play the scales to quickly tune your ears to a scale for easier songwriting.

I use this app myself so I'm planning to continue adding features to it :) Hope is useful for you too.

Nice, Useful App

This app works well for me. I like it as a quick reference and it seems to have everything I need. I set it to start at login since it takes almost no resources. The only actual errors I see are in the minor pentatonic scales. For example, the Cm scale is given as C-D-Eb-F-G-Ab-Bb-C which is what I would expect, but when I look down to the Cm Pentatonic scale, it’s given as C-D#-F-G-A#-C indicating a sharp 2nd and sharp 6th rather than flat 3rd and flat 7th as one should expect.

Of course, the notes are the same but it’s odd to spell the minor scale correctly, with flatted 3rd and 7th, at the top of the list of scales, then spell the minor pentatonic scale differently.

Other than that obvious glitch, CircleOfFifths is a nice, clean, useful app.

Awesome!

This app works great for me. It is very simple but it has everything I was looking for in a circle of fifths app, and I looked through many of them. I was looking for one with circle of fifths, the chords in a key signature and the scales notes on a piano. There's room for improvement of course, but it has everything I wanted. Thanks!!!
