Description

Sitting for hours in front of a computer screen has its consequences. Headaches, eye pain, burnout, and what doctors call Computer Vision Syndrome.

Intermission (formerly Breaks For Eyes) helps you look away from your devices, so you can avoid those side effects.

By default, Intermission will block your screen every 20 minutes, for 20 seconds.

It's completely customizable. You can choose to have subtle reminders instead of having your entire screen blocked. And you can adjust how often and for how long you take breaks. If you want to change the message that appears during your break, you can do that too!

It sits quietly in your menu bar, where you can easily snooze your breaks for some time (30 min, 1h, 2h, 4h, a day) if you have a meeting or are watching a movie.

Intermission can send you a heads up notification 5 or 20 seconds before it starts, and you can skip it or delay it if you still need a few more minutes to focus.

Take care of your eyes!

You can try Intermission free for 7 days, then you can pay once to buy Intermission for life.

Intermission now supports Family Sharing. Pay once and unlock it for your entire family, forever!

A Must Have

It is often easy to forget to take care of yourself. It doesn't give you an option, it takes the wheel from you. You can't make a poor decision if you take that decision off of the table.

It also present articles from doctors discussing eye fatigue and shows examples of near sightedness. Both are friendly reminders of the importance of giving your eyes a break.

Eyes and body!

Working from home I have found I don't move once at my desk so not only has this app helped me change my view to help my eyes but I usually get up to stretch, walk or get some water. It's super easy to pause or skip if you have meetings. The only thing and maybe I just don't know it is I wish there was a keyboard shortcut to get back to your screen after a break.

My head and eyes hurt so much less!

Wow! From day one of using this app I couldn't beleive how much less my eyes and head hurt. I thought I needed a new prescription in my glasses. Turns out I just needed to look away from my screen more often! Totally worth the money!
