Does exactly what is says it will do:)

This review relates to using IntervalCam with the (new-ish) Sony RX100VI. for some harebrained reason sony ships this otherwise excellent camera without either native timelapse functionality (come on, sony, how hard could this really be?) and the sony’s very primitive and clunky playmobile app does not offer timelapse functionality either. IntervalCam fills that void very nicely... enabling a shooter with an extra iphone to use that device as friendly UI to set/control timelapse sequences. it took a bit of fidding...with, however, really excellent support from the developer... but now i have an old iphone that i no longer use serving as my sony timelapse UI. you likely will need to turn the camera’s autofocus -off- (just set it to manual, as you would anyway for a timelapse) but then it should work like a champ. pro tip: to dramatically extend the life of you RX100VI battery, turn off -all- non-essential battery-hogging functions, including image review, screen brightness, BT, etc. i’m getting 800+ frames from a single battery. with a little bit of additional polish, intervalcam would be worth significantly more than it costs now, which is a deal at $2.99 imho.

Update: Use of the app with RX100 M2

Updated review after the developer responded to the disappointment and frustration with setup I expressed in initial review. Turns out that the option to select for connecting RX 100 M2 is "other remote." This works fine.

The worst app ever!!!

I've tried to use multiple versions over the past few months but none of them work. Image gets distorted if you rotate an iPhone from portrait to landscape and back again. Won't even start on my iPad. Contacted the developer who promised to fix everything but each new version is as bad as the previous one. I'm done with it.
