Description

Handy app for keeping track of insulin injection doses - help yourself control insulin stacking!

iOB was developed by a diabetic of 40 years and is a handy app for your iPhone to help you keep track of the insulin doses that you administer. Once you’ve spent a bit of time setting up your preferences and understanding the information iOB displays, we hope it’ll prove to be a valuable tool in making decisions on when and how much insulin to take.

You can record both long acting (basal) and short acting (bolus) doses, and schedule notifications to remind you when the injections were taken, when they're going to expire and even schedule a dose for sometime in the future.

Entries can be saved to the iPhone’s calendar and you can call up a report to show average doses that have been recorded.

iOB is meant to help you work out how much insulin you have on-board and avoid stacking your insulin too much or knowing what kind of ‘top-up’ you could need.

If you don’t understand insulin on-board or splitting doses please talk you your diabetic clinic or diabetes specialist nurse before using this app.

** iOB is not intended as a way to recommend how much insulin to take, only help you come to a decision. You must take insulin based on your experience, current circumstances and what you have been told by your clinic.

*** iOB cannot magically tell you how much insulin is actually active in your body and is meant only for information purposes.

Do not ignore how you feel!

What’s New

Version 1.510

Little update of the new widgets. Now they indicate exactly when the list of doses on them was last refreshed along with the (near) continually updating timer showing how long ago they were taken. They also request slightly more frequent updates from iOS.

Essential

Thanks for writing this app to track IOB. My insurance stopped paying for the InPen, so I’m going back to old school MDI. This app helps reduce some cognitive burden related to managing diabetes. I could not get the calendar integration to work however. Hoping the developer might offer some guidance here. Using an iPhone 13 pro with the latest iOS 15.3. No Insulin calendar was created and when I manually create that insulin calendar no entries are stored?

Should serve me well with the update.

I needed a larger dose option and it has already been added. Thank you for listening and updating the app so quickly.

Hi, that’s a reasonable request: hope you like the update and it works for you.

Great Idea But Not Blind Friendly

I really like the idea for this app. Unfortunately, it seems like it is not accessible with voiceover. I can swipe through and add my preferences like long lasting and short acting insulin types. but couldn’t get to any buttons that allowed me to log in my doses. Hopefully the developer can fix this and the app can be useful for the blind in the future.
