About Sudoku
The popular Japanese puzzle game Sudoku is based on the logical placement of numbers. An online game of logic, Sudoku doesn’t require any calculation nor special math skills; all that is needed are brains and concentration.
How to play Sudoku
The goal of Sudoku is to fill in a 9×9 grid with digits so that each column, row, and 3×3 section contain the numbers between 1 to 9. At the beginning of the game, the 9×9 grid will have some of the squares filled in. Your job is to use logic to fill in the missing digits and complete the grid. Don’t forget, a move is incorrect if:
* Any row contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9
* Any column contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9
* Any 3×3 grid contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9
Sudoku Tips
Sudoku is a fun puzzle game once you get the hang of it. At the same time, learning to play Sudoku can be a bit intimidating for beginners. So, if you are a complete beginner, here are a few Sudoku tips that you can use to improve your Sudoku skills.
Tip 1: Look for rows, columns of 3×3 sections that contain 5 or more numbers. Work through the remaining empty cells, trying the numbers that have not been used. In many cases, you will find numbers that can only be placed in one position considering the other numbers that are already in its row, column, and 3×3 grid.
Tip 2: Break the grid up visually into 3 columns and 3 rows. Each large column will have 3, 3×3 grids and each row will have 3, 3×3 grids. Now, look for columns or grids that have 2 of the same number. Logically, there must be a 3rd copy of the same number in the only remaining 9-cell section. Look at each of the remaining 9 positions and see if you can find the location of the missing number.

Ratings and Reviews
It's great! Sounds are loud
This app works great! Both the sudoku and the minesweeper work great on my Mac, and the instructions are clear if you are unsure of how to play. However, the sound effects on minesweeper when you lose are extremely loud. They make an explosion sound that hurts the ears, especially if you are wearing headphones. They allow you to turn off the sound effects, so the sound really isn't that much of an issue. This game will be lovely for my flight today. Thank you!
Interface and options
First, the only "free" games are those with minimal difficulty. If you are an adult and have been playing the game for a week or less, this level may meet your needs for a few days.
Second, the interface is confusing and simplistic and it is missing features which are available in competitor versions. For example, it is a pain to switch between "note" mode and play mode ( the design requires two or more unnecessary trackpad clicks to include a notation. The missing feature, which is so obvious to be included that I am shocked it is missing, is the auto-elimintation of notes once the number is played. For example, if I have 3 cells containing the number 4 as a possibly play and I choose to actually play on one of the noted cells (or a 5th cell, it doesn't matter), the number 4 should auto delete from the unplayed cells. Some games go one step farther and will not only remove it from the notes if played elsewhere but if you UNDO the use of the number 4 in the played board, it will RESTORE your notations for number 4 on the unplayed section. Some games ask if you want to restore the notes and others just do so.
Finally, the best games have a "quick play" option which just fills in the notes so that one isn't spending a lot of time doing the initial "housekeeping" needed for game play on higher boards.
There are many other free sudoku games and even the IPAD versions are better than this one.
Sudoku
This version of Sudoku works OK. On my Mac, it's difficult to see the hi-lighted numbers when you click on them. It would be nice to have a couple of different color scheme options; that might make a difference. I even tried to play with my laptop's brightness and it didn't help. This issue turns out to be quite distracting, making playing the game slower than I'd like. Other than that, it's fun!
