Love the concept, but I would like some more.
This app is very simple and nicely made. The style is exactly what I look for in a task app. Please keep the colors and theme. It gives it beauty. Though I do have an issue, and that is the fact that there is no repeat option. Why can’t I make a task repeat daily? Or weekly? Or monthly? Or maybe yearly? I hope you can think about this suggestion because I have some assignments and homework in school that repeat. Thanks!
Beauty (and productivity) in simplicity
I have used a lot of to do apps over the years, and I admit at first I was disappointed with Ivy’s lack of bells and whistles. I even sent the company feedback suggesting the addition of subtasks and timers.
But! I loved the clean interface and decided to give the app a go and I am so glad I did. I quickly realized my temptation to add subtasks was about trying to ‘sneak in’ more than 6 items, and if something couldn’t clearly be defined by one task; it was really two (or three! Or four!) tasks.
I see a lot of complaints in the reviews about the task limit, but the thing is you can always decide to do more than 6 once you finish the 6 things you set out to do. The Point isn’t that you HAVE TO only do 6 things, it’s that making a list of 6 things forces you to prioritize and choose what you really HAVE TO do today vs creating a to-do list you will never empty in a standard workday.
I am very thankful for Ivy teaching me how to make a to do lists can actually empty! I also LOVE the way it asks you to reflect on your day and tracks you stats over time. Often, when you work a job doing many of the same things day after day it’s easy to feel like you aren’t really going anywhere or ‘doing anything’ Ivy provides a nice easy way to look back on what you have done.
Why Can’t I Get In?
I downloaded this app yesterday, and I still can’t get in. I would love to be able to use this app, it seems great, but I can’t even get past the first step. When I open the app, it advertises its subscription; I do not want it. Yesterday, there wasn’t the “no thank you” option, but now today there is. I clicked on the the “no thank you” and tried to set up an account. I was able to do that, but then it asked me for the subscription again! The only reason why I don’t want the subscription is because I don’t have enough money for it. I denied the subscription yet again, and then proceeded to sign in. The advertisement popped up again, and I can’t get past it to use the actual app. I am frustrated and I would like to be able to use this, but this app doesn’t want me to deny the subscription it seems like! I want to be able to use this, but I literally can’t.
