“This keeps my kids busy and surprisingly more away from a screen than I thought! Video games have been replaced with drawing, building with LEGO and science experiments... and we’re just getting started. So worth it!”
"We signed up for a 14-day trial, but soon realized we were here to stay. Our kids are engaged, they’re creative and the staff makes the whole thing fun. They love interacting with other DIYers and we feel like it's a safe place for them to do it. DIY.org is exactly what this family needed."
These families discovered DIY.org, a huge library of hands-on projects, how-to videos, and an awesome Learning Community™ where kids can safely share online. There’s something for every kid: Art, Photography, Slime, Minecraft, Machines, Sewing, LEGO®, Animation, Cooking, Singing, Coding … you know, the stuff that makes the world great!
The thing that makes DIY.org different from all other screen time is that your kids will get inspired by other kids who love learning and share their passion and curiosity.
With DIY, any kid anywhere can learn any skill.
We have a new name! And a bunch of new members!
We merged our two awesome learning communities - DIY.org and JAM.com - into one super learning platform for kids and we’re calling the whole thing DIY!
Wait, did you really think we’d release a new version and only change the name? Not us! Here are some epic new features:
– XP is back! The number next to your avatar indicates how much experience you’ve gained on DIY.
– For each challenge you try you can earn experience for some of the 120+ skills available.
– There’s a new tab in your portfolio to keep an eye on, you can track the skills in which you’ve gained experience.
Have fun exploring, and let us know which skill is your favorite.

Great, but could use some editing.
The new D.I.Y is a wonderful app. I love the community, the rules, just everything and everyone. BUT, that dose not mean this app is perfect. No app is perfect. My first suggestion is to actually give penalties to rude D.I.Yer’s. They are out there, you know. There are also some things I would like to be added back. On the original D.I.Y you could search of usernames, posts, etc.
but on the NEW D.I.Y there isn’t an option to do that. PLUS, now you even need photo library access to do challenges. Here’s another thing; posts take LONGGGGG to compress/upload. Anyway, that’s it for now. But don’t get me wrong, this app is great! It just needs some editing, like any other app. :)
Thank you D.I.Y for responding to others comments and mine as well. I won’t do an email for now, but thanks!

Hi there! You should be able to post from your iPhone/iPad and we'll help get this fixed for you. Email us at email@example.com and we'll figure this out 👍
Go back to the original app.
As an old DYI-er, I loved the app. It was fun, safe, and overall a fantastic and friendly community. I was on for about three months, but then we got warned about the new app happening. The news spread like wildfire, and concerned me and many other peers. Some thought it was a prank, but we immediately contacted the owners. They did not respond to anyone. The next morning was unresponsive, and just told us when we opened the app to check out the new DYI, combining DYI and Jam, a similar app. I figured out I had to pay to see all my friends again, after a 2 week (14 day) “free trail.” What enrages me the most is that you must show commitment to wether you are joining or not, not being able to do a free trail and then decide if you are joining the community. This is unfair to people who refuse to or doesn’t have accessibility to pay. It is clear we most likely aren’t getting the old DYI back, and as I come back to try to get back into the community, I refuse to because of the cruel treatment of paying.
An old DYI user.
I miss the old app!
This one makes you pay for everything you do, while on the old app everything was free. Why do I have to pay to do something productive! The old format was also WAY better!!! Especially during quarantine when there is nothing to do, we should be able to make crafts for free! On the old app we could sadly comment, post, learn, and earn. I had a couple badges and it was a fun challenge collecting them all. My mom even enjoyed the app because it got me creative. I liked having my friends on that app too because we’d race to complete badges or we’d talk about it together. Now even if I was willing to pay for this app, I’d have to convince my friends to wrench out some more money monthly. It was absolutely perfect before...
