Love it !

I am not a gigging musician. I use this app to play background and keep the beat while I sing and play guitar over it. It’s just a learning device for me. BUT A GREAT ONE. The ability to change keys and fade instruments in and out is a HUGE feature.
My complaint is that I have the original version that allowed me to purchase individual songs and now it is discontinued. Fortunately I bought many songs before they shut that business model down. I don’t need a huge library, but many times when I search the library for artists or songs I want to learn, they are not there. So it doesn’t make sense for me to subscribe and I thoroughly wish they would still let me buy what I want and download.
Maybe there aren’t a lot of folks who feel like me, but I suspect there are, and it’s a huge missed business opportunity not to have this option for the non-professional community.

Please reconsider JamZone !!

Good app but needs a few changes

So I’m pleased with the app so far but would like to see some changes. I wish that you could move songs around in your set list, I’ve tried seeing if there was a setting for this but I have to manually set up a set list and find the song in my favorites to move it. Maybe it’s just user error but like I said I’ve tried everything to make this easier. I would like to see guitar diagrams it keeps saying they are coming but I’ve yet to see them. I would also like to be able to go in and set macros for changing my play settings i.e. setting up a footswitch so I can push play without having to use mouse or touch the screen. Also I notice that at times it will play a song but it’s still stuck on the previous screen and I’ll have to exit out and restart it. But overall it does what it says. Wish they would add a more songs to work with this. I wouldn’t recommend using this live unless you recorded it using a DAW and the playing back as it does glitch from time to time.

Inconsistent

I’ve been using the app for 3 years. It’s a major part of my show and has pushed it to another level. That said, for long time users, I wish the updates wouldn’t change things without warning. For example, the latest update added a capo feature that wasn’t there before. During a gig, songs that I typically played in C#m all of a sudden were notated as A#m. I had no idea that they added this capo feature which meant the chords were noted as if a capo was on the 4th fret. This happening during a gig without advanced knowledge can make he gig quite difficult to get through. Also, songs that previously had chords and lyrics now don’t. A heads up should’ve been given about that. All in all a great app but terrible communication. If you’re using this as an active full time musician, be aware that they change things up without you knowing in advance.

* Update: Developer responded saying I may have accidentally hit a button. No, that’s not what happened. Don’t blame a long time user for your inconsistent software updates.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for taking the time to review our app. We indeed made some changes to the capo feature recently, but this one should not have been activated by default, you might have accidentally tapped on the button. If there was any issue on your end we apologize for the inconvenience and if you want to be aware of each update's content you can always read the patch note on the App Store, these contain all the changes we make with each update. If you need more help with a specific issue, feel free to reach out to us at hello@jamzone.com.
