Updated! Shut down your account at random!l
Update: I finally was contacted by someone at the office and they looked into it and more than rectified the situation. I am appreciative of their very amazing customer service team and will start using the app again!
I was a loyal user of this app for almost a year, it's super easy. However after I just downloaded the update on my phone, it now is telling me that my account has "spammed" them. I have never done anything against their policies and I had close to $100 on my app that now is gone. DO NOT TRUST THIS APP. You will work hard and they will just use it without giving you your money you worked for. I use to use indeed for general job searching as well but not anymore.

Maybe A Different Incentive Model Would Be Better
While I have come across many opportunities to share job postings in my community and in my travels, the fact that this app made me review others’ photos demotivated me from ever posting.
I would just like to post a job to share if I find a Help Wanted sign out and about. However, half the time I see these at night, and I’m not going to make effort to come back to a place to “take a picture of the outside of the business.” I value my time more than that. Also, some exteriors are just difficult to photograph. You can’t get far enough to get the front of the business in the picture, or there’s some obstruction. Like, oh well, would have been great to share, but my picture will probably be considered garbage since only one would be worthwhile, so why make the effort? These signs aren’t for the best paying jobs anyway, so I almost feel guilty in sharing them.
I think it would be better to incentivize posts that are verified as genuine & just accept the help wanted sign. I guess that’s difficult to do, considering how it could be abused, but just my 2¢ & frustration in not being able to share what I find.
Job Spotter was my favorite app for over a year! I got my mom and friends to download it and had fun with them searching for hiring signs. As a student I loved having the ability to easily get extra cash towards school supplies and books by doing something that benefits everyone. It was a win-win scavenger hunt. Until I found out the hard way what so many others had a bad experience with: Updated my phone, was approaching $100, and it randomly shuts off without warning claiming I “spammed” them, revoking the decent sum I had been planning to use for this semester... (I figured Indeed is very reputable and I had been a loyal user of the app for so long! I should be able to reach out to them and reactivate my account. I emailed them making clear that there was an app issue with mixing up the stores and network errors at a mall. Unfortunately, not a response was given other than an initial generic response, “If you violate Terms of Service” your account can be shut down. Then, I asked the question of, “May I please know how I violated anything?” Sadly, I have gotten no response... I even begged the person to just reactivate my account because then I could at least still enjoy the experience with my friends and family.) Very disappointing.
