Description

Juice! keeps an eye on your laptop’s battery charge level and can play a sound when it’s time to plug in or when it’s OK to disconnect from the mains. Set it to warn you with an audio cue when you’re running low on battery or when the power supply to your laptop is interrupted.

Juice! can help you get the most out of your laptop’s battery. You may have noticed that leaving your laptop plugged in all the time can shorten its battery life. To keep it healthy, it’s recommended to fully discharge the battery about once a month and to maintain a charge level between 20% and 80% the rest of the time. You can set Juice! to play a sound when the battery charge drops below a level of your choosing, or when it’s reached a level at which you’d like to unplug.

Juice will say:

- “Power has been cut” when you unplug your laptop or power is switched off at the mains.

- “Battery charging” when you plug your laptop in or power is restored at the mains after an interruption.

- “Please charge me” when the battery charge drops below a level you specify with a percentage slider.

- “You can unplug now” when the battery charge passes a level you specify with a percentage slider.

Needed

I read an article in *Wired* magazine which indicated that for optimal battery life we should keep our laptops between 80 and 40%. The author decried the fact that they could find no app that would help us to follow this regimentation. They somehow missed *Juice!*. This is exactly what I needed for my new laptop. Now a pleasant voice tells me when to plug in and unplug my laptop. I kept my last laptop plugged in most of the time and it shortened it's life enormously.

Thank Heavens

I couldn't believe how unnoticable the stock low battery warning is on my new macbook. My last laptop was a PC and it had warning symbols and sounds that showed up in front of whatever program I used. When I started using my Macbook pro, you can't even see the battery bar in some apps so I was having unexpected shutdowns in the middle of image processing and losng files. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Perfect!

So simple and perfect. Tell me when the batter goes above x% or below x%.

Other apps that just prevent the battery from charging above a certain level don't notify you at certain percentages like Juice! does. For me, this app is perfect for prolonging battery life by simply reminding my to unplug and plug in at 80% and 20% respectively.
