Awesome but needs more work
I am making a request that the app give the end user the option to “charge now” automatically whenever the car is plugged in or “smart charge” automatically. By default it is always set to smart charge which is great and all for going green. However when you plug in and expect to charge at that moment, it’s disappointing to find that your car isn’t charging now because it’s waiting for “clean energy” from the grid.
Good App for the most part...but
... there is room for improvement. I would change the following things:
What’s with the weekday weekend thing? It’s confusing... make it one! It’s dumb. Is Friday night a weekend or a weekday? Is Sunday evening goi f into Monday morning a weekend or a weekday?
Offer a primary daily schedule with the option to have secondary or 3rd option. For example::
I may want to schedule a TOU most of the time when rates are low and over night... that would be my primary schedule.
But if I’m going to work Nd there is a free charger, I may want a short 1/2 charge just to get me to work the next day... I would easily switch to my “secondary” schedule of 1/2 charge over night to save costs st home..
Other than this, I also think the developers of this could use some pointers from ChargePoint and add trends of charging per day and week and month.... showing KW used per month. Ana possibly incorporate costs that could be manually plugged in by the user
Charger is great, app stinks!
After a lot of trouble getting the charger connected to wi-fi, support was no help - found the answer on a discussion forum after much searching, discover the app is really completely useless. The charger itself is great! But the app does not display accurate charge times or percentage charged. Contacted support and they sent me screenshots and instructions to adjust. However those screens and adjustments DO NOT EXIST in the app I have (most recent version, just updated 9/6/19).
I have found it more useful to just look at the various indicator lights on the car/charger than use the app. Really is a shame as the charger, as stated above, really is great.
