Welcome to the Fact App, your tool to build a more educated and better world. The Fact App is a quick and exciting way to expand your knowledge about important issues and to share this knowledge with others. It is a powerful tool to improve lives by equipping people with information to make truly informed decisions.

Do you and your friends know the answers to these critical questions?
• What portion of Americans go hungry?
• What portion of the U.S. economy is consumed by government?
• After fertilization, how long does it take a human heart to begin beating?
• At the current homicide rate, what are the chances of being murdered?
• Who pays a higher federal tax rate: the middle class or upper 1% of income earners?

With the Fact App, you will learn the answers to such questions and many more, and you will be able to easily share this information with others in a fun and thought-provoking way. This is not about learning game show trivia but tangible facts that empower people to make vital decisions.

If you want to be highly informed about important issues and share this knowledge with others, this is the app for you.

On each weekday, the Fact App will ask you a question about a major issue facing society and then present several possible answers. After you select one, it will show the correct answer and a link to the supporting documentation.

The Fact App then makes it easy to share this knowledge by testing your friends and colleagues through email, Facebook, or Twitter. It will also allow you to add your own thoughts and comments.

The Fact App will tell you what portion of people selected the correct answer for each question. It will also tell you what portion of the questions you answered correctly.

You can scroll through all previous questions at your convenience.

I’m wrong a third of the time

But that doesn’t bother me. It just means I need to find facts. However, the app leaves much to be desired. Just in case, I’m going to delete it and reinstall. If that clears what I deem to be multiple bugs, I’ll return here and update this review. If not - I’ll delete the app and ignore temptation to try it again until there’s a recent update. If there is no interest in their own app, I’m not interested. I do appreciate learning and how well their figures are documented.

I find myself constantly fact checking all media/papers/net/etc
This app simply conveys facts from best available sources & usually the facts are surprising, counterintuitive but interesting.
I was first interested in the nature of our federal debt & was taken to a very thorough analysis.
This is best for 1. entertainment while waiting in line, etc or for 2. excruciating detail if you let the app take you to the source material.
I enjoy & trust it for content.

The questions are generally straightforward, but the “correct” answers are often not the scientific consensus. Rather, the app uses one or two studies to justify the answer as being “correct.” There is no mention of other studies that contradict the study cited by the app. There’s not even any mention of the methodologies or the limitations of the studies cited. There’s nothing scientific or unbiased about this app. It’s obvious that the authors have a strong right-wing American bias. THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH HAVING A CONSERVATIVE BIAS, but it’s intrinsically dishonest to frame complicated issues as having straightforward answers by using cherry-picked data to justify an ideology. Utter rubbish.
