Description
Welcome to Kaizen, your data-driven training partner that will help you unlock a new PB. Whether you’re training for a race, or looking to improve your running, Kaizen is here to guide you, and proven to help runners achieve their goals within weeks. Kaizen crunches your running history (after you connect your Strava) and calculates your actual current fitness, then sets a dynamic weekly distance target to get you to your goal. Hyper-personalised and completely flexible so that you can train however works best for your routine.
CURRENT FITNESS AS A RACE PREDICTION
Get an updated race prediction for 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon after every one, so you can see the real improvements to your fitness day after day. Build confidence leading into a race about the paces you can run for the distance and plan your race with conviction.
A DYNAMIC WEEKLY DISTANCE TARGET
Each week you get a simple, dynamic distance target. Under the hood it is the training load that you can sustainably achieve for the week, translated into a distance based on your average intensity and cross-training for previous weeks. If you run harder because you’re feeling good, the distance you’ll need to run decreases. If you run easier because you feel like that’s what your body needs, you can still achieve the same training load by running further.
HIT YOUR TARGET EACH WEEK AND ACHIEVE YOUR GOAL
As long as you achieve your weekly distance target each week, you’ll be in goal shape by race day. If you don’t manage the consistency because life, you’ll still know the exact shape you’re in so you can race with confidence.
COMPLETELY FLEXIBLE; TRAIN HOW YOU LIKE
Being data-driven, Kaizen doesn’t force you into a plan. You can plan your runs around your schedule to make up your weekly target. Miss a run? No stress, Kaizen’s planner will tell you how much you need to make up. Or if you can’t in that week, it will spread that missed load over the next weeks. So you can focus on building fitness brick by brick, fitting it in around your life.
BUILD CONSISTENCY AND IMPROVE
Not racing but looking to improve? Consistency is the key. Kaizen will set you with plans to improve your fitness from maintaining it, to deciding that your life is running and you’ll do everything need to improve ASAP.
Kaizen is the running training app that focuses around you, the runner. Be consistent and improve your running, step-by-step. Build confidence going into race day that the training you’ve put in actually counts. Execute on race day and enjoy.
Kaizen is currently compatible with Strava. You will need to connect your Strava account in order for Kaizen to process your activities and calculate your predictions and targets. Kaizen does not process or store any location or heart rate data.

Wild Predictions
The race predictor was telling me to go for a 2:40ish marathon (near my PB), after I was injured and hadn’t been running for months—seemed like a good way to get injured again! Cool design on the app though.
Developer Response ,
Hi The Sad Stork,
Sorry to hear about the injury, definitely not ideal, and we hope you’re on the mend soon.
Kaizen is designed to adapt to your recent training and avoid pushing too hard, especially after time off.
If you’re seeing unusually high predictions or race plans that don’t seem right, it could be a bug or something’s just gone a bit off track. We’re keen to help, please drop us an email at hello@runkaizen.com with your Kaizen ID (via settings) so we can take a proper look.
In the meantime, you can adjust things manually by lowering your race goal in the prediction settings. Kaizen will then scale things back to support recovery and prevent overtraining—something traditional plans don’t always handle well.
Thanks again for flagging this, and wishing you all the best with your next training block.

Poor work on the Bugs
Its seemed interesting at first, but couldn’t even get passed the prediction screen and I would have been happy to get some random just to use the app but it couldn’t. At this point I’m convinced a normal app like strava of the watch app from some brand are better indication without the extra hassle of anything.
I want to like it but can’t.
I was hesitant to write a review 4 ish days into my free trial because I assumed the app was new and they were still working things out. It’s apparently 4 years old! My big problems are:
1. It’s so buggy. It’s like.. first 6 months of production buggy. Weeks I plan don’t show up. Runs I complete aren’t recorded in the weekly dashboard.
2. I have no idea how to use it lol. It’s not very intuitive and I like to think I’m fairly tech savvy usually. But there’s no FAQ, no tutorials, no nothing but a discord group no one’s active in. I get the premise of the app it’s literally USING it that’s confusing.
3. I also don’t really get the premise of the app. Basically they just tell you how many miles to run in a week to see the gains you want then you’re free to structure that how you want. But if you already know how to structure runs and how to pace don’t you also probably know how to scale mileage optimally?
4. You can’t plan runs in decimals. I run by percentage. So if I’m running 11 miles for the week, for example, Tuesday and Thursday are both 15% of my weekly mileage so I’ll run 1.65 both days. I round up for silly decimals but they don’t let you use decimals at all. Does no one in kaizen run an extra half mile ?
End of the day it’s just not at all worth a subscription.
