TOUR GUIDE AS YOU DRIVE BETWEEN KAMLOOPS & BANFF
The tour apps use your device’s location abilities to play the commentary AUTOMATICALLY. All you have to do is drive, listen and decide which places you want to stop at. Our tour guides have created an insightful and entertaining tour along the TransCanada Highway #1. We’ll recommend the best places to experience along the way and some great locations that most visitors will drive by. There’s so much to see and do, GyPSy will help make sure you don’t miss a thing while you stay independent and in charge of your itinerary.
GyPSy Guide knows where you are and which direction you are heading, and plays commentary automatically about the things you are seeing, plus stories and tips and advice.
The same information you would get on a bus tour or from a guide book, for just a fraction of the price. And you control the itinerary and schedule.
No data, cellular or even wireless network connection needed while touring. Download over Wi-Fi before you tour. Anyone can use them with no need for roaming data – even visiting from another country.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
On this drive you will transition between almost desert-like landscape, massive snow capped mountains and stunning valleys as we cross from range to range. There are many worthwhile stops to make along the way and you should expect to spend a full day to complete this drive.
WHAT YOU’LL SEE:
Some of the highlights along the route include;
• Golden, BC
• Glacier National Park
• Salmon Arm
• Shuswap Lakes
• Giant Cedar Boardwalk
• And much more
This tour specifically is for the highway. While you are inside the Canadian Rockies National Parks, please swap to those tours for more detailed routes to best views and attractions.
Get the CANADIAN ROCKIES GyPSy Guide for inside the Banff, Jasper and Yoho National Parks
If you are driving to or from the Okanagan, you will enter, or leave the tour route at Sicamous. You will still hear 90% of the tour.
Download the app on Wi-Fi from your network at home or use any free Wi-Fi network. Because the app is filled with audio commentary and maps, its larger than "normal" apps. Many phone/data networks may block the download because of size - so its important to download over a Wi-Fi network.
++ Continued use of GPS running in the background increases battery usage - we strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. This is much better than simply plugging into the USB port in a vehicle.
** iPad users - please note that WiFi-only iPads will not activate the commentary automatically. Any iPhone or network-capable iPad (WiFi + Cellular - whether you have a network connection or not) will work just fine.

Ratings and Reviews
Wow. Road trips will never be the same.
Got 4 of these and all were great. History, fun facts, environmental issues, local lore, best places to stop and see on drives you would never know about. Even directions and restaurant picks. Accurate because it uses gps and not cell reception. And I’m your tour guide has a great voice and way of speaking that is not annoying. A must have on any road trip. Kids or no kids...
This was a great way to spend the way driving the Canada 1. I highly recommend this set of audio tours to anyone on a driving trip and/or heading through a national park! It was fun, informative, and entertaining!
Above average content
If you already purchased the Banff or Jasper apps, the content in this one would seem underwhelming and patchy.
