Description
Maine’s Kennebec Valley flies under the radar for most visitors to Maine. But with easy access to popular outdoor activities like whitewater rafting, hiking, and fishing, its recognition is steadily rising.
Including both Kennebec and Somerset counties, the region takes its name from the mighty Kennebec River. Swift at first, the river becomes wide and slow around the state capitol at Augusta. The Kennebec River is the true heart of this spectacular region.
