Kickstarter is a place where independent creators and passionate backers come together to bring new ideas to life. Explore creative projects in art, design, film, games, music, and more, and pledge to your favorites right from the app. Creators can even keep up with their own projects on the go.
With the Kickstarter app, you can:
• Back projects to help make new ideas a reality.
• Stay in the know with updates from projects you’ve backed.
• Save your favorites and get reminders before projects end.
• Share projects with friends via email, messaging, and more.
Project creators can stay up to date from anywhere:
• Easily track your funding progress.
• Keep up with comments and pledges.
• Post updates and respond to backer messages.
We’re preparing for some exciting new releases in the app, so we cleared some space by tidying up a bit. Leave a review and let us know how we’re doing.

Can Be Rewarding
First of all, let me say that life as a Kickstarter backer can be very rewarding. On most weekends here in my city, there are lots of artists performing, all genre of music, several theaters... and somewhere amidst it all is a Flamenco Dance Troupe. It’s just part of a rich culture fabric. And when that Troupe dances, they are pleased to have a nice, portable, professional-style dance floor. On the back of that floor are written a bunch of names, mine included. Those are the Kickstarter backers who pledged to buy that floor and keep great Flamenco dance alive I our city. I’m not a huge Flamenco fan; it’s nice, but not my favorite. However I am glad that we have it.
A group of college students studying engineering got to send an experiment into space on a satellite. That’s not cheap, even at “student rates.” The world is better off now. The experiment explores a new technique for cooling electrics in the vacuum of space. But the world is mostly better off because five young engineers learned to work together to solve real problems.
And so many more rewarding projects.
The app itself is stable and reasonably designed.
Here is one thing I hate: to send a creator a message, the app bails you out to a website which requires that you enter your password. Because the app itself keep you logged in, I don’t know my Kickstarter password off the top of my head.
I love KickStarter – it has been a lot of fun. I love to see the awesome concepts and creative presentations.
I’ve invested in several gadgets that have come to fruition and have been wonderful. I’ve even donated to people just because they have wonderful ads. My all-time favorite is the Elkton Diaper Bag.
I’ve invested in more than a dozen products and received great things. When the Nix Color Sensor original version was a fail, the developer pulled through, made a better one, and sent it to me at no additional charge. Kudos and thank you!
However, I invested in the WiReboot and received the product, it came without documentation of any sort. Many emails to the developer have gone answered. I’ve asked KickStarter for help and they have been no help at all. >:-(
I bought a few more things successfully.
When I invested in RightPsi, I had good communication with the inventors. I submitted feedback, and got great response from them. However, I have received no product long after the promise of shipping. Since then (a few years) they no longer respond to emails. Again, asking KickStarter for assistance, they have been NO help, but to tell me to contact the developer – who is not responding!
I realize the failures are with the developers, but it is morally responsible for KickStarter to help.
Being TWICE burned, I don’t feel confident in investing money anymore, no matter how good the prospect.
Needs “back” or simple History
I love Kickstarter. I have the Kickstarter app on my phone, and when I was reading about an awesome Kickstarter project on the web the other day, when I clicked on a link in the review it took me to the app. Great, right?
So I open up the app today to share that with a friend, but the app has reverted itself to some main “popular now” feed. Ok, not what I want, so... how do I find what I was looking at last in the app? How do I find this awesome project? I don’t know it’s name. But it was the last thing I was doing in the app! It’s vanished. No “back”, no “here are the projects you viewed recently”, no nothing. Kickstarter is not doing their creative partners any favors there!
This is simple - add something to just backtrack or know where we were recently in the app, discovering things we didn’t know would speak to us (so we didn’t bookmark or fav them), but now later on and they’re still thinking about them... let us easily find them!
