Ratings and Reviews
Absorbing play
The map movement and feel of this reminds me of “Dragonheir” coupled with the leveling mechanics of games like “Diablo.” The comparison is not negative. Another thing in its favor is that the screen isn’t as visually cluttered as something like “Raid” for example—which isn’t a bad game. And yes, “Arthur” has monetary offers but it isn’t a cash grab as so many games these days; it seems very f2p friendly. As a gamer since around 1992 I really enjoy the story, look, and feel of this game plus as a fan of turn based battle new iterations are always welcome (though it doesn’t have the tactical elements of a game like “XCom”—but show me a recent game which does). I gave “Arthur”four stars on my first day of play and now, two days in, I’m calling it a solid five. Good work folks! And special props to the Art Department.
Good character variety
I appreciate the similarities to games like Summoners War and Onmyoji. Even some of the more common characters have valuable skills that are worth leveling. I hate games where you just load up on “SSR” characters that make all the other characters meaningless. I also hate games where you can just auto through the whole thing without paying attention or know anything about the game. This game forces you to turn off auto and make strategic decisions when fights get harder which is a good thing like Summoners War and Onmyoji which also do that.
…
Very first event in the game requires non stop attention to get top rewards. First off you have to have the certain hero to beat the first challenge because the chance the beat the boss is very low without. The rewards for beating a stage are minimal compared to the 100k points you need just for the top 2 rewards from the shop. The stamina cost to participate is double or more what every other battle in the game costs. And good luck with the drop rates. Go broke going for the hero that has a 100% chance to beat the boss or hope the 10% chance will work. I’ve tried dozens of times and can’t beat it even being over leveled. Horrible design and only promotes spending to try and beat it which is what they want.
