The latest in this gorgeous, long-running tower defense series adds cool twists, like playing with two heroes at once.
I really enjoy this series from the very first game to this one,the characters have evolved but some has been the same maybe do an entire game with some returning characters from the or ones kinda like an all out game, with more stages than these,I miss the high score stages if that can make a comeback and maybe a wolf styled character???
Since the Wukong update, I've been having issues with enemies being frozen on screen and it won't let me finish the level. They just stand there, no towers attack them and no troops attack either. Please have this fixed. I can't complete levels anymore :(
I have been playing kingdom rush ever since I was a little kid playing the original and the frontiers. I gotta say I think this has become my new favorite kingdom rush game, at first I thought the ability to change towers was weird but once I started to change towers It added a whole new level of strategy into the game and it made playing more fun to see which towers work best together. And the free hero selection is a lot bigger and the abilities that the heroes have are really cool and I like how you get to play with 2 heroes instead of only the one. And there are DLC that actually look like a lot of fun than most DLC’s now that look like cash grabs. 10/10 would definitely recommend if this is your first kingdom rush game and worth the money too.
The up front purchase is like going to one of those festivals where there are nothing but vendors selling stuff inside and you had to buy a ticket to get in. You’re just paying for the ability to get inside and pay for more stuff. I’ve enjoyed other offerings of this game, but they have removed the strategy aspect entirely. The game is now just about buying enough items to progress to the next level to buy more items for that level. The up front purchase only buys a few playable levels.
The game itself is absolutely fine, a great TD game just like the rest in the series. For me it is a 1 out 5 for the simple fact that they have turned this into the greediest of cash grabs where something like 50% of all towers and 85% of all heroes are locked behind further paywalls, and not cheap ones either. Paying for all of these, event at their “discounts price” will cost you a further $50 on top of the price of the game itself. In other words, they want you to pay the price of a AAA console/PC game to play their mobile game. To add further insult to injury, most of the paid extras towers ar just towers from previous games, so you’re paying an entire games worth of blackmail money for the privilege of using them in this game, even if you bought those previous games. The same is true of the DLC heroes except it’s even worse - even if you ALREADY PAID for a DLC hero in a previous entry it isn’t credited to you in this game. I’m sure the actual designers didn’t make these decisions but the game is a shameful cash grab that’s unworthy of its own legacy.
Sorry to hear you feel this way! While the game does have in-app purchases, everything was designed so you don't need to pay anything extra to progress. Thank you for taking the time to review our game.
I never really buy games on my phone and I definitely won’t after this. Normally when you pay money for a game most of everything is unlocked. NOT on this game. Beware if you’re looking to play the game and think that you’ll use most of every tower or character. You will if you have an additional $100 to spend on the game because other than the 3-4 towers and characters you’ll have to pay anywhere from $3-$7 for character/tower/arena. Honestly kind of ridiculous to me, if I buy a game I would want most of everything unlocked to me, instead I feel like I bought a ticket to a show I have to pay every artist individually just to hear the whole song. Basically 80% DLC. Love the game, don’t love that I need to pay more for a mobile game I already paid $6 to play.
