I didn't play kingdom rush 1 so I'm not gonna say anything about 1 being better. But even if the game is extremely fun, it has some faults. It costed about $25 to get all the heroes. And the dragon costs $7 or $8. And the gems are only for bonuses that you can use only once after paying for it (with gems). Some levels are improbable to beat even on casual. But the game offers core mechanics that can be better, about the same, or worse than some other td (tower defense) games. This game is basically only for pro td players, such as myself and many others. If you are new to td games and want to try them out, I'd recommend Bloons tower defense 4 or 5 on mobile or computer, as it's on both. After you think that you've gotten enough practice with beginning td games, I'd recommend getting this ( or Kingdom Rush 1, based off of reviews I've seen). Even though I say these flaws as if they are forever, this is the first version and has only been released a few days ago, and there will most likely be future updates adding better items and upgrades, and also removing some bad things. So don't fret about what I've said. There are also no bugs I've seen yet and it has never crashed on me yet. I'd definitely recommend this game for td players but just what until future updates for some extra items. Also, though the levels can be very hard, it gives a challenge to players. Overall, though this game has its flaws, it gets a 5 out of 5 in my book.

People who trash this game because certain heroes cost additional money are irrational. DLC is a business model of modern video gaming. Ironhide does a respectable job with their DLC because the only thing they up charge for are heroes that are not necessary to enjoy the game for many hours. The heroes they allow you to use with the standard game are effective and fun. That being said, this is the best tablet/mobile game I have ever played hands down. It is honestly one of the better video games I have played during my nearly 20 years of gaming. The graphics are very attractive and colorful. The level design is creative and varied. The gameplay is stellar. "Rush" defines what touchscreen gaming is all about. Not only is tower placement important and logically challenging, but the order and extent of tower upgrading is also vital. Making good use of your meteor strikes and placing soldiers correctly every 10 seconds keeps the game fast paced and constantly strategic. By the way, there is no lag. In terms of tower defense this is also the best ever. The towers are formidable and awesome to watch in action. The enemies are diverse and require different approaches. 5 stars. If you like tower defense games buy it! If you're too cheap to buy a game for more than $0.99 then ask for a raise or stop smoking crack and save some money. This game is digital crack.

I happen to live the new kingdom rush and all it offers and want to address some things. IAP is quite pricey and I agree it is a little ridiculous to spend 7$ in a hero but there in lies my point it's a hero. The three heroes provided are more than enough to beat the game and in my opinion very unique and fun to use. Each has their own play style and I plan on upgrading them all to level 10. I enjoyed the game without worrying about IAPs or using gems for that matter and think it is a complete experience that you can enhance if you wish to put out the extra money. I noticed in other peoples review that the game required use of the store. I've beaten every level on normal and half on veteran without using any gems. I suggest leveling your hero more and that should help with the difficulty.The only thing I will complain about is sometimes my mortar towers shoot in the opposite direction of the enemy but I am sure the bug will be fixed. The only thing that brings my review down to a four is that the IAPs have at least a subtle price drop. I love iron hide studios and the kingdom rush series and wish to continue to support it with IAPs but at the costs it is now its hard for me to take that step. I loved the new addition and can't wait to see what awaits us on the frontier with coming updates. Oh and ps .sound doesn't play on my version without headphones in try to fix that.
