It’s a new app, so I am looking at it through that lens. Current pro’s: Allows you to track inventory with lots of customizable options (substrate type, suppliers, species of mushroom grown, staff). Clean looking UI. Label generator with QR codes and information for tracking batches/blocks is a great feature. Yield estimator/calculator is cool too. Current con’s: My biggest complaint is the monetization model. You are allowed up to 100 grow blocks on the app a month before it forces you to upgrade to a premium plan. The lowest tier premium plan starts at more than $1000 a year, which I assume is just the introductory price, and allows up to 2500 blocks per month. The higher tier which allows for unlimited blocks per month sits at over $3200 a year. For a smaller business, this is a lot for overhead and I believe will push users like myself to use other alternative products. Still in Beta so some features will inevitably change. Limited label printing capabilities, with Avery labels being the only option. Final thoughts: this app is a good idea, and I look forward to seeing how it evolves. Please consider alternative pricing plans/models to make it more accessible to smaller/new operations.
Thanks for your feedback! Kinoko is still very much a work-in-progress and information like this is very valuable for helping us make the best possible product. To address your concern about label templates, we just recently added an update that lets users define their own custom templates. It takes a bit of setup, but only needs to be done once. Once you have your custom template set up, it's saved to your account and can be reused any time you go to print labels. We're also open to adding more default templates for other manufacturers. We started with Avery as they seem to be the most popular label-maker on the market, but the plan has always been to wait and see what customers are asking for so we can add new templates in the future. We also very much appreciate your feedback on the pricing model. We set that up initially as basically our best guess as how to best meet the needs of individual farmers on the free plan while charging a reasonable amount for customers who are doing more significant volume. Right now, as we're still in beta, no one is being charged for any of the plans. We will definitely take your feedback into account as we decide on the final pricing model before opening up the platform to the public. Thanks so much, and feel free to reach out again with any questions, concerns, or feedabck.- Kinoko Development Team
