With this Apple Design Award winner in our kitchen, we’re never short on inspiration. Beautiful and polished, it presents a rich variety of recipes, all backed by dazzling photos, helpful videos, and handy tips. You can even pick a recipe while you’re on the go and get an automatically generated shopping list to take to the grocery store on the way home.
Hello everyone who can see this. This is my absolute first time I’ve been inside this much organized processing of a cookbook. I only shared a #4 because I certainly haven’t learned anything yet, just came in and read the edges to see what the excitement is all about. I finally opened it and my mind is blown. Is this something a simple minded, HS level educations person can jump into both feet first or shall we go in toes first and get out quickly? What is, THE STORY, about this app? It appears free from all I’ve initially read which is minimal. Is this like a game where you learn as you go and the reward is by doing your best and learning to build on the simplistic or is there a secret you figure out on your way to your first step, then completion of your first successful recipe? I guess it might be, I’m writing about something I’m not knowledgeable enough about, at that in itself, difficult. I guess part of learning is by making mistakes and laughing at yourself. So could you please just bounce off a few thoughts to get someone interested to get started and make it more clear, what’s in this for you, as someone who obviously loves to cook and share vs. someone whose tired of the same ole same ole that would like to learn more about making less taste better and actually provide a healthier, more filling morsel, snack, meal, buffet.
Hey, thank you for your rating and the feedback! We're happy to hear you enjoy our cookbook. Hopefully it inspires and motivates you to try out new delicious recipes. Also, our Kitchen Stories app is completely free for our community. We do our best to create new, and varied recipes every day.Kind regards from Berlin, Jule from KS
I've never seen an app that has all what you need to prepare a meal in one place, and moreover, it is sorted out in a elegant minimalist design. You can choose the main ingredients, preferred cooking time, restrictions, cuisine, etc... Then, the app will display the recipes that matches your preferences. Should you like one, all you need to do to tap it twice, and it is automatically saved under recipes, which you can review later on and reorganize to cook books. You can also click on the "add to shopping list" and it will create a checklist for the ingredient needed, so you can go and buy them. In the recipe, you are provided with all ingredients; utensils, and how-to videos which are vital to the recipe. The best feature however; is the serving-measure ratio. You can get the measure of each ingredient based on the number of serving you wish to do. For me, I have always been struggling with this area until I found this app. In summary, this is THE ONLY cooking app you need. It's one of the best, if not the best, cooking app of there
This is generally a great app but then Kitchen Stories food editors really need to work on how to write recipe instructions. There will be equipment listed, such as a blender, and then no information about its use. Ingredients are randomly listed in both the ingredients lists and directions. One has to guess when they’re to be used and, if they have a divided use, it becomes even more confusing. I’m an experienced cook but this app seems oriented to young people out on their own for the first time, who are looking to learn how to cook interesting recipes but who don’t have a lot of practice, so it’s pretty confusing for them. I recognize that there is a translation issue with some recipes but that doesn’t explain the lack of information or the scrambled order of instruction. I like the recipes best that come with people doing full videos, the Szechuan Dumpling recipe is amazing, as was the Chicken Tikka Masala. So the recipes are quite good but need better editing.
Dear hatebeneficial, thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us! We are glad to hear you enjoy cooking with us.Because we are continuously working on our app, I will pass on your message to our team - your input will be useful for future development. So thanks again and all the best!
I’ve had this app for years now and it is the first place I go for recipes and to learn. Seriously. An app minimalist - I store only 5 apps on front page of my phone, not App Library. This is there with weather, calendar, to do, camera ... it’s essential to me.First, it’s beautiful. Even the choice of music to accompany the videos. (Love that no one’s talking. Thank you so much for that.) Features and layouts just make sense. Very user friendly but also feature-rich. There’s a lot here: recipes, collections, beautiful how-to videos, calm, knowledgeable hosts, user comments, photos, make your own shopping lists & ‘cookbook’ collections, great newsletter front page. Also, the tech works. In years, I’ve never had a problem loading pages, videos or features quickly. And the recipes are yummy, serving a variety of eaters from vegan to meat lovers. Some are simple, some are complex, hearty or elegant, basic or special occasion, it’s all here. Other users are generous with feedback, ideas, and pictures. Most of the time, the recipes are a great success. On the rare occasion it’s not, for me, it’s usually due to taste, not that a recipe doesn’t work. Finally, it’s not junked up. So many food blogs, sites, and apps are so full of other things (advertising, equipment reviews, etc.) that it’s hard to just see and live in the recipe/dish. This is not like that at all and I’m so grateful. Thank you designers, techs, chefs, everyone! You’ve done a great job and this is one of my favorite apps. I look forward to using it every day. ❤️
I absolutely love this app! First, the design is aesthetically pleasing and the food look appetizing. I will mention a couple of my favorite features of this app. It is perfect for beginners because it includes some basic skills, such as how to cut berries or how to make homemade vegetable stock, in a video form. They are very clear and they accompany all the recipes I have seen. Each recipe gives you the measurements of each ingredient, and most amazingly, it allows you to change the number of people you are cooking for, and it changes the measurements accordingly. This is so great for people who aren’t gifted at math like me. This app is completely free. You don’t have to pay extra for the more complicated recipes. Although I haven’t started cooking yet, this app has really encouraged me and excited me to start cooking this coming year of college.
I used to love this app and wrote a dozen of recipes. It used to only take a couple of days for them to review and publish the recipes. I stopped for a couple of years and started to reuse it this year. They are short staffed so they told me now it takes over a month to review. What’s worse, many buttons on the phone app keep giving me error messages. Now you can’t even create a recipe on your phone but you have to use the web page. If you prefer to use your laptop, you’ll have to transfer all you photos there to create a recipe. Once you submit a recipe to review, you can’t edit it using the phone app-again, you need to log on using your web browser. And once you submit the change while a recipe is under review, you need to keep refreshing the page to reflect the changes. Lastly, once something is published, you can’t make any edits. Before I was able to email them but this time nobody replied to me to correct my typo. This is getting really annoying and disappointing.
Hello PP12345!, thank you for your honest feedback, we really take it to heart. When we updated our app, we removed the user recipe upload feature and transferred it to our website, that's why you probably get the error message. Please send us an email via hello@kitchenstories.de with the recipes' names you want to be uploaded, so we can take care of it as soon as possible! Unfortunately we're still very low in capacities, which is why the whole process takes so long at the moment. This is something we can't change, but we'll try out best to make our community happy! Thanks for your patience 💛 All the best from Berlin
