Are you ready to become a morning bird?
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Let’s face it: regular alarms don’t work very well. You just hit the snooze button as many times as you can, then rush for the rest of your morning trying not to be late. What you really need is a coach that will help you build a strong morning routine, and that’s exactly what Kiwake is designed for.

Kiwake will drive you out of bed whether you want it or not! Like any good coach, it will give you a hard time if you don’t follow the rules, but also encourage you when you actually do. The more you stick to your routine, the less annoying it becomes.

HOW IT WORKS
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Kiwake’s mission is to walk you through a brief but complete wake-up process to make sure you woke up:

1. Your Body, by standing up and leaving your bed.

2. Your Brain, by stimulating it and keeping it away from excuses you could find to go back to sleep.

3. Your Motivation, by reading your goals to start your day inspired.

Kiwake will request proof that you went through each of these steps:

■ Body wake-up: take a picture of an object far from your bed to prove you left it. This is an object that you already saved when you have set the alarm.

■ Brain wake-up: complete a quick mini-game that requires your full attention. Keeping your brain busy will stop it from finding excuses to go back to bed.

■ Motivation wake-up: read your main goals and give yourself an incredible motivation boost!

Editors’ Notes

We thought nothing could break our lifelong habit of punching the snooze button. Kiwake forces us out of bed with physical tasks, and its brain-testing puzzles perk us up before we've even had breakfast. We can already feel ourselves becoming different people: morning people! We never thought we'd see the day(light).

Great app but has some bugs

It's a great app and the only one I've found to consistently keep me out of bed. However, it does have some bugs. The most annoying one being that the app isn't on-screen when it goes off. So you have to unlock your phone and search through for the icon to the open it. This is annoying because my husband and I work opposite schedules and I have to turn off any alarm clock off quickly lest it wake him up. Another bug occurs in the Motivation section. You have to swipe the "Type a motivation here..." so it can turn off the alarm. The first time I didn't realize this and I had to turn off my phone so the alarm would turn off. It also kept crashing on me when I first set it up.
Besides those few things it's a great app and has really helped me.

Alarm inconsistent- does not make sound

I tried to submit feedback through the app to the manufacturer to request help or a refund because this alarm is not working.

I was awake before my alarm was supposed to go off (lying in bed until I needed to wake up, but not interacting with my phone) but the alarm did not make a sound. I have a second alarm just in case (a clock radio), so I realized Kiwake hadn’t gone off when my second alarm went on 15 min later. When I looked at my phone, there were 21 notifications for the Kiwake alarm. This is now the third time this has happened, but I assumed the first times that I just slept through it, even though it is not characteristic of me to sleep through an alarm.

I’ve checked my sound settings on my phone and they are fine, so I can definitively say that the alarm did not make a sound. Is there a reason or a setting that would explain this? Or is it a flaw in the app? Considering the cost of this app and it’s function to wake people up, I am very frustrated that it is unreliable. I would love to have this resolved because I like the idea behind the app, but if there is no fix and I can’t rely on it to make a sound, I instead want a refund.
