What Happened?
First off, I love this game. I put easily over 100 hours into it on multiple devices a couple of years ago. I decided to re-download it after I beat the second game. However, I want to know what happened. This game hasn't had an update since 2015 and there are still many graphical bugs. Almost anything that moves floats off screen, including (but not limited to): Enemies, Primary weapons in combat, pets (like the mana-steal robot), beds when resting, and sprites in the blacksmiths menu. It has been over 2 years. I'm disappointed that Paradox can't take the time to fix these simple bugs. If this were fixed, it would easily deserve more than 5 stars.
If you can get past the bugs, it's still a great game.
A really long one trick pony
In the first minute, this game absolutely captivated me. You select your player, your class, you sit down, and... whoosh! The narrator begins, the backdrop rolls back, and you find yourself in a half tabletop, half visualized story. Absolutely amazing.
That was all the game has to offer. Once you get past that first battle, there is near-zero story, narration, development. Each location has a single setting, there is no exploration. Each character has one go-to skill that you use in battle, but even if you use multiple, the strategy for every battle is pretty much the same. I got pleasure for some time from the simple act of leveling up, filling up the empty seats at the table, etc., but in the end it felt like wasted time since it all builds to nothing.
Cool concept. The opening showed what the game was capable of. But the rest of the game, it turns out, is nothing but grinding for grinding's sake.
Amazing but you should add more DLC‘s
Love the game spent a while doing stuff and now I defeated everything there’s nothing to do and I don’t want to restart because it’s too fun and I worked hard for my characters and already worked through the hunted fall DLC now there’s nothing to do also there’s some weird glitches as well like the characters that you’re fighting start to disappear always so maybe you should do an update for that and make the game a bit more longer because like I said it is really fun just make it longer I know you made other games but this is just my favorite so please make it longer
