Very easy to understand and use
Knovio is an app that lets you put your face and voice next to PowerPoint slides as a way to teach or explain just about anything, and that's how I use it. Knovio uses the camera and microphone that are built into the iPad to make it easier that if you had to set up a separate video camera, make a recording, and then upload it.
Once I got the hang of how to bring a PowerPoint deck in, the rest was pretty simple. You talk, advance the slides at the right moment, and stop when you're done. They even make it easy to correct mistakes if you mess up what you want to say on a particular slide.
I can imagine lots of uses for this in my line of work, and it also looks useful for practicing before you give a presentation. We don't often get a chance to see how other people see us, scary as that might be.
I would like to see ways to put together several of these presentations into some kind of group player like a course sequence. But just having the link to the presentation is good, too.
I thought this app is very well thought-out.
I gave a selling skills presentation at our National Sales meeting to the entire sales force. Everyone then wanted a copy of my PowerPoint deck. I stumbled across this app when I was looking for something more than just sending the slides to everyone. What a find!!!! And it's free!!! It literally took me less than 10 minutes to actually start adding my voice and video to my slides. I then was able to send a link to everyone. I've gotten some great company wide recognition from this and am now a member of the sales advisory board! I'm going to try this next to reach out to prospects. Great tool!!!!!! Love it!!!!
Bye Bye myBrainShark
I was surprised to hear that myBrainShark was closing their freemium accounts. After a quick post on Twitter, I found Knovio and haven’t looked back. The site has an easy to user initial interface that allows me to start developing my professional looking presentations. I would recommend Knovio to any one looking to create interesting presentations.
