The Knoxville News Sentinel E-Edition lets you read Knoxville News Sentinel on your iOS device just as it appears in print. You can flip through pages and skim headlines as you would the printed edition. But better than that, the Knoxville News Sentinel E-Edition allows you to enlarge type with the tap of a finger, or jump instantly to the conclusion of a story on another page. You can link to websites mentioned in stories with a single touch, or fire off an e-mail to an address linked from the newspaper. And if you missed the paper one day, don't worry. The Knoxville News Sentinel E-Editions lets you download past editions, too.

Using the print edition is much better than having the News Sentinel delivered. No more missed papers. No more wet papers. No more going to the mailbox in my pajamas. No more having to get out of my warm slippers in the winter to put on outside shoes to go out and get the paper. No more reading small print. No more ink on my fingers. No more going to recycle with a huge, heavy load of papers. No more Sunday flyers flying out all over the floor. No more being bombarded by coupons that can be gotten online. No more cutting coupons that then end up crumpled and forgotten in the bottom of my purse.

Call me crazy

I have been a serious newspaper reader since I was ten years old. For as long as there were two Knoxville papers I subscribed to both. I have always loved and appreciated the value of the information provided. The information covered hundreds of topics and permitted a reader to become very worldly and well informed.

The fourth estate has always seemed to be the bedrock of our democracy helping to keep the three branches of government accountable with earnest, truthful, well documented, and unbiased information which permitted readers to form their own opinions about the current events locally, nationally and globally.

I am very saddened by the current state of newspapers. The articles are not well written. They have little depth. It is easy to see the political bias of the paper. The punctuation, grammar, spelling, and sentence structure is appalling. Our newspapers are no longer our guardians. It appears that our newspapers have sold out to a liberal, socialistic, non religious, and one sided viewpoint which cannot be good in the long run.

I don’t see this changing in the future except for the worse.

In short, I love the app but hate the product that it has become.

Great way to start the day!

Over the months, the Sentinel app has improved dramatically. It flows great and is easy to read. I like the “print edition,” just because I prefer the traditional organization of a newspaper. Others may prefer the perhaps more modern “news app” version. Thanks for doing such a good job with all the news from local to national to sports, and for presenting it in such a readable format!
