A PERSONAL TRIBUTE Konjugieren was created by Josh Adams as a tribute to his grandfather, Clifford August Schmiesing (1904–1944). Cliff was born in Minster, Ohio—a town where German was the language of daily life. All four of his grandparents had immigrated from Germany, and he grew up steeped in that heritage, attending public schools taught by German-speaking nuns. He became a doctor, specializing in obstetrics. When America entered World War II, Cliff served as an Army doctor, treating soldiers wounded in North Africa, Sicily, and Southern Italy. He died in Oran, Algeria, on January 21, 1944. Josh's mother, Ryan, was just fourteen months old. Though Ryan never truly knew her father, Cliff's love for his family has echoed through the generations. Konjugieren honors Cliff and the language he and his ancestors spoke—German.

The Quiz, Settings, Verb Detail, Verb List, Family Detail, Info, Tutor, Results, and Onboarding screens have been redesigned with card framing, improved typography, better spatial composition, and micro-interactions for correct and incorrect answers. A new alternate app icon featuring a bratwurst is available in Settings alongside the existing hat, pretzel, and Bundestag options. Two new verbs bring the total to 990: besingen (celebrate in song) and konjugieren (conjugate).
