Kudos: Put Your Cards to Work 4+

I am excited to try this new app!! It’s new to me so I’m not too familiar yet. I’m just super excited about getting double the reward points! I love my rewards and I’m constantly doing whatever I can to earn the most cash back on everything I purchase. I love to save money and watch it add up! The money I save on purchases I put in a savings so I can watch it grow and see how much I earn. I will be back in a couple weeks or a month to update my review. Hopefully it stays at a 5star! I guess it’s worth a try and we will see.

For an app that claims to value privacy, I cannot understand why their data and analytics gathering requires your search history and browser history, combined with your full name, phone number, and email address. All fully identifiable. I can understand why they’d need a purchase history from cards like Amex to make sure that points are maximized, but this is Apple purchase history. Another unnecessary bit of tracking. The only analytics done that’s not personally identifiable is your financial data and I’m sure that’s because Apple would stop them.

I know there’s more unnecessary tracking, but I can’t see the summary while leaving a review. All-in-all, this app probably works and works well, but the real product is the consumer to the advertisers, and there’s a lot of info to sell. That’s where they make their money.

Update: the devs claim that adding _any_ Safari extension requires consent to browser history, etc., but that’s not consistent with other extensions (Amplosion in particular) that are Safari extensions but the AppStore explicitly state don’t track at all.

Not to mention they didn’t address at all the Apple purchase history portion. That’s pure tracking for ad-targeting.

Hi there, Kudos works through a browser extension in Safari that helps you pick and pay with the best card while you shop online, and we also 2x your rewards across 15k merchant partners.

In order to connect ANY safari extension (not just Kudos), Apple requires people to consent to sharing their browsing data for proper functioning of extensions. This is not specific to Kudos, you would get the exact same prompt in Safari if you try to connect any other extension in the app store to your browser.

We have never sold user data and we never will. We make money in two ways:

(1) merchant commissions: our 15k merchant partners pay us a commission whenever you make a purchase and we share that with you through Kudos Boost.

(2) credit card approval commissions: credit card issuers pay us a commission whenever you open a new card through one of our links

Kudos is great for keeping track of card earning rates and I especially love having secure storage of my card information so if I don’t have my wallet on me and need to make an online purchase I can just open Kudos and it’s all there.

That being said, a lot of the card benefits/credits are either missing or wrong. For example, Chase Freedom Unlimited shows “annual unlimited cash back match” as a credit, but that’s only for new applicants for the first year.

I also gave up on the boost feature because the two times I tried to use it, the earnings were pending for months before being declined. Oftentimes other cashback extensions will have better earning rates anyway.

We've updated the Chase Freedom Unlimited card details to clarify the unlimited cash-back match is for new applicants only. While we frequently QA our database of 3,000+ cards, we're grateful when our members point out any inaccuracies.

Regarding the delays with the Boost feature, we get it - it's frustrating to wait! We're reviewing the processes to identify areas for improvement and speed up the waiting period after purchases.
