Landover 4+

I really love this game. I’ve been telling lots of friends about it so there will be more people to play with. I usually play against the bots and something extremely frustrating keeps happening. They are almost unbeatable. Typically there is one bot that absolutely skunks me and the other two bots. I feel like I’m playing at a pace that is fun and competitive with two of them, but one is always too good. Sort of takes the fun out of it. I wish the bots were more evenly matched with me.

Thanks for the review! We are working on having bots of different levels. Right now all bots actually are the same skill level and use the same algorithm. They are much better on simpler maps. We have spent the majority of our time building the game features. At some point in the future we hope to have time and resources to focus more on the bots!

I read some of the reviews and I will say we really enjoy this game I like the fast pace of it and I like the mechanics. I’m not sure i understand how you get recourses or what the gold do except give you a random resource . The bots cheat and there are some nefarious stuff going on with them. Example they just seem to get all the resource cards exactly the ones they need to win where you are stuck with the ones that don’t help you. Also something is up with the attackers I can have more military and I still lose. So I’m the end my husband and I find it’s better just to play without the bots as they are not a good match because you cannot win against them . But overall I really like this better than catan universe ( am I allowed to say this name? ) anyway keep going guys !

Thanks for your review! I can assure you that our bots have nothing special programmed in their favor. I personally have played many bot games and although good, I beat them most of the time. Regarding military, you should only lose if you have the least military when the barbarians attack. The bots do prioritize military above all else so they will rarely lose a city to barbarians. My guess is you were just unlucky in your solo games with the rolls, which does happen in any game. Gold gives you 2 random resources for villages, and 3 random resources for cities. Excellent design and interface; impressive to cram all the complexities of this game into an interface you can navigate with your thumbs. I even like some of the rule nuances; “military” instead of knights, trading rates, etc.

Docked one star for:
- Requiring internet for single player games against bots. Drives me insane that even simple mobile games need a persistent connection these days.
- Unpredictable occasional gameplay bugs

Game is built using flutter and firebase. We are looking into how hard it would be to separate firebase so that you can play an entire game with no internet. If you do experience any bugs, please let us know about them on our discord channel. Our devs hang out there all the time. thanks!
