At first, I thought this would be useful. Unfortunately, it only covers most basic data, and you must follow the (sometimes available) Wikipedia link for more in-depth info. Plus, this seems to contain more common plants, no help to those with some experience. However, if updated with more rare and uncommon plants (i.e. Sinocalycanthus raulstonii, Persian Shield, etc.) with much more involved detail (growth pattern--besides height and width--etc.), this could be a fantastic app. It already has the foundation of visuals, layout, and interface. It's just simply missing thorough content and...well, plants. Otherwise, good for a quick double-check. I also have to agree with other reviewers prior to myself.

Good basic template

Update: Discovered links to wikipedia. Easier to find better info and photos on trees, etc. you are looking for within app. Useful app! Worth the money. Getting better with updates.

Disappointed after reading reviews, I thought this would be a better app. Photos of trees are lacking. Cannot tell from them what a mature specimen should/would look like. Most appear to be taken from websites based on tags. If someone tagged a photo of a Pin Oak which shows a partial photo of a trunk with a blurred hazy Pin Oak (maybe) in the background, it's here. The photo tells you nothing about a Pin Oak tree. Some species have more than one photo, which is good, but those with only one photo should be better represented. With better editing, this could be a legitimate app, but not worth $5 yet. Might be helpful if you could add your own pictures. Descriptions could be better detailed. Good start.

Exactly what I was looking for

Thank you for this app. I've wasted time on several online plant search databases, but found them all difficult to use and often lacking in quantity. This app simplifies the labyrinth of check boxes on other plant selectors.

A couple improvement ideas: allow users to post cultivation tips on plants, and have multiple lists for plants (ex. Front garden, greenhouse, Mom's garden ideas, etc.). This would be extremely helpful in the planning process, but also if user tips were added it would help those who already have the plant in their garden. Some sort of discussion board would be cool, too, but not as much as the first two.
