LanScan is a simple and efficient IPv4 network scanner that discovers all active devices on any subnet: the local one, or any public subnet that you configure.

-> Auto-detection of configured interfaces: Airport, Ethernet, Virtual interfaces ...
-> Scan the IP range you like, from 1 IP to the whole IPv4 address space!
-> Scan your local network with ARP packets
-> Scan public IP network ranges with Ping / SMB / mDNS packets
-> Display the IP address, MAC address, hostname (4 max) and vendor associated
-> Discover the SMB domain if any configured
-> Hostname resolution: DNS, mDNS (Apple devices) and SMB (Windows devices)
-> Custom hostname edition
-> Custom comment for each device
-> Open custom URL in browser
-> Export results in CSV files
-> Hide/show each column
-> Align each column as you want
-> No limitation on the number of devices found !

Restrictions in free version compared to Pro in-app purchase:
-> Only 4 hostnames are fully displayed -> You'll see the first 3 chars of the others
-> Only few TCP ports are displayed in free version

xTexLutz ,

works great, fast and reliable

After suffering through the greedy "IP scan basic/home/pro" bait and switch of a competitor, I am pleased to say that LanScan is a fine reliable product. It's naming "discovery" is not as good as others (you end up having to add nearly every Hostname manually) but once that is done, it's fast and reliable.
(What gives me pause: the "pro" version has been discontinued and now they proudly proclaim that future updates will follow the in-app-purchase model. It appears Debookee-team has gone to the dark-side? Sadly. TIme will tell)

Developer Response ,

Hey xTexLutz ! Thanks for your kind words. Not sure what you mean by dark side of the in-app purchase, both LanScan+In-App and LanScan Pro had the same features since we started to code both app when in-app didn't exist. Simply a better user experience for users ! More info here : (or google "How we migrated our LanScan Pro users to LanScan on App Store")

One of my favorite tools

Lanscan has always been apart of the toolset I use to help manage networks and I never really thought about leaving a review until I ran into another networking tool and realized how great it was over the 5 years of me using it.

I never had a problem paying out in supporting the developers over these years (Even when they moved licenses around a few years back but they still helped the loyal customers!) and I never thought to leave a heart warming review until now, so I want to say THANK YOU. I love this tool and the work that went into it as simple it may seem. It's really worth the money (A few cups of coffee). Especially since they just updated it for the new M1 Macs (When I eventually get my new mac I can continue to use it!) and most importantly affordable with a one time license, what more can you ask for? 😌

My Go-To App for Network Debugging

I have a couple dozen devices on my home network. Most of the time, everything works. But when something goes awry, LanScan is my first stop to figure out what is going on. I bought the Pro upgrade, which is well worth the price. Having visibility of hostname, DNS names, and SMB name and domain all in one table is great. As is the extended port-scanning.

I recently had a problem with an app startup conflict, and the developer was extrordinary in his pursuit of a solution. I had a working alternative debug version in a couple days, and a full fix in the App Store in less than two weeks. Outstanding!
