If I had to say, there was anything wrong with this game, it would only be to say that it’s addictive. I’ve been playing every day for over a month straight and I love it. While you don’t have to spend money. It certainly helps. And it’s strangely satisfying to be able to destroy an enemy’s base, or to successfully defend your own base. Building up your characters is not like a kids game. It takes time and effort and you should have a basic knowledge of the game. That being said it takes a few days to really get a feel for it and since you have to constantly fine tune its definitely entertaining. Not overly complicated because anybody can play this game. As long as you can read and pay attention. It’s got a built-in translator, so language barriers are no problem. When I first joined, I joined the largest Alliance, of course I won’t call out their name or dox them. Let’s just call them United we Simp. I was brand new and they invited me to their alliance, and then immediately kicked me out because I made a mistake which was really innocuous, but they were drunk with power and petty. Then I found another alliance, which is mid-level and we’ve been building ourselves up ever since these are the people that really appreciate the game and are nicer, easy to get along with and fun. I think the key is to find an alliance where the leadership more egalitarian rather than power tripping. I really like is that I have befriended a group for my alliance and we’ve become pretty good friends here talking and chatting about the game. I would recommend buying extra queue-type items that speed up your growth. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for you brainy types.

  • Misleading and too many updates

    HatMoney83

I rated 4/5 stars for the reasons in my title otherwise it would be 5/5 stars. The game updates far too often. I am all for games being updated regularly but every day I open the app, wait 10-15 seconds for it to load only for a message that reads “update requires restart”. That is literally once a day. The day of writing this interview there were 3 updates. Again I am all for regular updates and am grateful the game is actively supported by developers but don’t roll out updates that fix one thing and break another. I would say probably 2 or 3 days a week there is 2 updates in one day.My other issue is that the gameplay in the advertisements represents probably 1% of the gameplay that you actually engage in. This isn’t my biggest complaint since the other 99% of gameplay is world building which I find to be entertaining as well. I like that the game is probably about 90% afk, I think that is the preferred gameplay for mobile games.Progression is pretty slow but rewards logging in and doing dailies so I enjoy that aspect of the game. The game is a little bit pay to win in the sense that you start with 1 research lab and 1 construction crew. You definitely need 2-3 of each to have steady progression. I don’t necessarily see this as pay to win simply because I don’t believe games should be 100% free. I haven’t seen any advertising in this game so I don’t mind shelling out $10 for the entertainment the game provides which also helps me progress in the game.

  • Nothing like the Ads

    TxD523

It’s just here typical army building game where you have to be patient or pay them extra money to get things done faster. I gave this game a legit 30 day play through and I did eventually pay at least five dollars to have one advanced mechanic in it and even then I barely made it to level 20. They really pressure you to join an alliance and then you get people in that alliance that get upset if you don’t play the way they want you to. I did enjoy it for the most part of the missions they had you doing but once those ran out it kinda got boring. It was just a lot of collecting resources. They don’t pressure you with ads for other content, which was extremely nice, but they heavily push purchasing their stuff to get items and resources. The only way I feel the need or temptation to pay real money on an app is if I am thoroughly enjoying the game or I get a huge advantage in the game. Ie, double or triple collections, or things that are more permanent based. They kept trying to push this one package for $100. And I could tell you that you could easily spend all of the items that you bought from that in a matter of minutes for 100 freaking dollars. if I’m spending $100 in the app, I better be able to do whatever I want and never lose. I give it four stars because I did actually enjoy some of the aspects of the game and I wanted more of that but once those were gone, it was pretty boring and then not fun when you were randomly being attacked by someone else for some reason that they were trying to push instead of it being the theme of attacking zombies.

Dear Commander,Thank you for the incredibly honest 30-day "field report!" We truly appreciate the 4-star rating and your detailed feedback on the transition from early fun to the mid-game grind. Here is a quick look at the points you raised:Finding the "Ad" Gameplay: If you miss the arcade shooting, you can find more by tapping the Helicopter building and selecting "Special Ops" or "Frontline Breakthrough."The Level 20 Shift: Around this level, the game moves from missions to deep strategy. Focus on Research and Resource Building to maintain steady progress as a free-to-play player.Alliance Vibe: Every alliance is different! If yours feels too high-pressure, don't hesitate to find a more casual group that matches your playstyle.Value & Spending: We hear you on the pack pricing. We aim to offer permanent boosts (like extra builders), but we understand that high-tier resource packs aren't for everyone.Humans vs. Zombies: While PvP becomes a factor later on, keep an eye out for "World Boss" or "Zombie Invasion" events to stay focused on the undead theme.Your feedback about the "resource collecting" phase is very helpful, and we’ll share it with our design team. Thanks for giving us a legit month of your time!

  • Long term player becoming dissatisfied

    Rjsjjddyydudksooqsjxkf

We’re at the start of season two in my warzone. Many players all of a sudden don’t have enough resources, etc. to make it through the week and compete. Our warzone all of a sudden has a bunch of dead accounts out on the edges of the map that are very far along in the game (suddenly quitting). The good thing about this game is you didn’t need to spend money to play, you might just spend money when you’re highly competitive and in a close vs duel. That made the game fun. Now you need to spend just to play and hit your minimum marks for the week. Everyone in our warzone has noticed we’re losing players and the game isn’t as fun. I almost never get our alliance train rewards anymore. I almost never have enough tickets or tasks for trucks anymore, almost completely out of resources. When the game is giving me this little I don’t just go and buy more, I stop playing because I know the developers are backing me into a corner and not giving me a viable free to play option. That’s when it’s no longer a game, but a scam. Make the game playable again or I see a lot more players leaving. The game has also matched us up on a vs duel we’ve had no chance of winning for the last six weeks. Why would I ever continue playing with this being my experience. On top of this the packs that are available for purchase wouldn’t even put a dent in my gameplay. I would be spending money for something that wouldn’t even help me if I did. I’m giving it till the start of season 2, but I imagine I will be deleting this app soon.

  • Keen observation about “bots/discord” or other social media ploys (This game can be played for free)

    Tyrannosoares

The people who tend to be bringing up hunting bots within alliances tend to be the actual bots. They are taking space in the game and utilizing this tactic to later request social media (usually discord) to advertise another game. If you join a group that has a leader select them very wisely. The bots take over and start booting out the people who are real to force them into other groups (usually after a false promotion in the alliance to R3) with bot leaders and the leaders then make a discord group. If you join them on discord they always say this game is filled with bots and to come join them in a better game. Within the new game they then start to pressure people to pay money for upgrades in the other game. The people in the new game are the developers and cash hungry groups trying to make money as a ploy. These games can be relatively fun and be played for free. Don’t fall victim to the scams of “bots” or “discord”. To all who follow these rules, I hope you find a reliable alliance and happy gaming to everyone! Also be cautions of downloading an app recommended by these people. They could be using it just to collect data on you, the player. Read the terms of use and protect yourselves. Note to the developer: Promote this message to users and start filtering out the fake users by conversation items. If the user proceeds to bring up “bot” hunting or brings up social media accounts to join for group communications get these people out of your game. The safer the game environment is from this the more users will be happy and want to continue to play it. Promote this review as well.

  • Expensive

    $2,800 Battle pass?

This game is really good and will have you hooked, but will drain you pockets, Im not sure how they expect kids to play it because if you are not an adult that is willing to spend at least $400 weekly you won’t be able to buy anything, just 1 base skin is $400 and a 7 day battle pass can cost you $25, plus the packages they have for $100 doesn’t give you what should be worth $100, it is easy to get 10,000 gems in the game, but 10,000 gems won’t even be enough to upgrade a building, so paying $100 for 10,000 gems won’t get you anywhere, you would need to spend at least $300 to be able to upgrade 1 BUILDING. You also have the route to not purchase anything but you won’t stand a chance against other players, because alliances would not take you as a member because you aren’t strong enough and people will attack your base easily leaving you without resources, i don’t think they should make it cheap but at least give people their money’s worth, If i am willing to spend $200 make sure i get something that is worth it, like for example make a battle pass that cost $100 it is up the amount of time you put into the game to grind and get all the rewards on that battle pass. Not having to keep spending money to be able to get all the rewards on the battle pass lol which at the moment is $2800 to be able to max out the rewards on battle passes. This makes the game easier to whoever is willing to spend $5,000 on the game every month, and the people who just love to play the game have no chance.

  • It is a post apocalyptic survival…

    Nstift

A post apocalyptic survival game that is not really what it is advertised as. The advertised portion is about 1/10th of the total game experience. The gameplay is intuitive and makes things easier to navigate through options but there are major issues holding this game back.First, they ask for you to fill out a survey before you really can get acclimated to the experience and notice the problems with this game. Second, the gameplay mostly requires a guild to play and has no controls to limit high ranking players from completely steamrolling and pulverizing your defenses. The power differential is so off that you can’t actually make a significant gain in protection. It seems that this game favors the players that were first and now is just feeding new players to there high ranking players. Most frustrating and attempts to suggest a minimum of control over differential limits are unsuccessful. I am mostly a patient player but this big flaw makes the game feel like an impossible task and stating over time and again is becoming an exercise in insanity. Third is the incentives for completing major tasks and milestones. They are meek and don’t inspire perseverance. I usually feel like I wasted time for very little payoffs.Overall the game is not what you think it is, impossible to gain a good advantage and has no real incentive for continuing through it, but the game play is intuitive.

  • Another PvP war game

    HunterB3o

I had such high hopes in that the mini game shown in ads is actually what you get to do the moment you start playing. Ok excellent. I only want to play that and pass the time. But oh no.... Actually, in between the games, there's a base with demolished buildings or space to build new ones. And heros or leaders you end up getting when you advance. All too familiar gameplay that ends up being a war game to strengthen base under a time limited shield, only to get attacked by other players as soon as that shield expires. Unless you join an alliance or group or buy shields to stay protected, you will get attacked and most of resources you would need to maintain power gets taken. I despise games such as these because I have no intentions to play war games or purchase in game content for one. I have consumed and wasted way too much time from other similar games in the past. All this game does is bring back the stressful moments of gaining power, only to get attacked by pay to win bullies who has absurd power in game. This will cause casuals like me to leave game and overall this game doesn't grow organically. Only pay to win players will remain. It's a silly concept and I want no part of it.I will uninstall the moment I get bored or see the first attack that happens. I will need to find a game that actually has mini games like this one and nothing more.

  • A scam

    ApatheticDread999

Its advertised as a game where you run between objects to shoot them open for an upgrade and make it to the end of a course. The reality is thats just a small fraction of the game, its a lot less fun, and it gets impossible at some point. Like your characters put out maybe 1 shot a second, but you gotta somehow fire 79 shots in 8 seconds. The rest of the game is a copy paste of games like CoC. Base building. You can get extra worker temporarily if you save up 500 gems, or you can unlock them permanently if you give them real money. Congratulations you win a new HERO but you can unlock them without giving them real money. Basically as soon as the game starts your starter hero gets loosely tied to a wooden chair and then has a small explosive with saggy wires get put around them. OH NO! You got 24hrs to save them! ….So i waited about 32hrs and nothing happened. Timer ran out and disappeared but she’s still there. You know she could just stand up and wiggle out the wires right? That you can untie the regular rope? But they want to make the game last as long as possible, so you have to specifically find and use wire cutters to deactivate the bomb. Ok, so i get wire cutters. They snip the wire and….. she’s still stuck. The wore cutters are gone. Like a can of soda it’s consumable and can only be used once. Turns out you gotta find 6 wire cutters to cut 6 wires before she’s free. LAME! This game lacks substance but desperately wants you to spend money on it and grind.

I continued to play the game longer than I should have, hoping to see some change. Unless you’re spending $500 a day on this game, you’re just going to be farming repeatedly and getting defeated by people who buy out the store every day. In fact, I don’t doubt it if every server had developers in it to convince people there’s some kind of competitive nature to this game, there isn’t. I find it hard to believe that anyone would spend these ridiculous amounts of money just to get a false sense of accomplishment. It’s entirely pay to win, every week the entire server gets demolished by the top 10 players. I can’t even get shards for the hero’s that I paid for. It’s a slow burn until you realize how pointless it is to even try to keep up, we got guys who’s power level is 4-5 times higher than mine and I must’ve spend around $500 already. I still don’t have a base skin. I still don’t know HOW to get a base skin without spending $400 immediately. Winning the arms race gives you one shard. I’m level 28 on my server and I’m so far behind that’s it’s pointless for me to even keep playing. You can’t even rally against the strongest players and I’m only half way into season 1. Frontline breakthrough is fun for a while and then it becomes a pain, the difficulty of it is near impossible on mobile, you need a PC to beat it, it becomes more stressful than fun. This game is fun until you reach level 18. Goodbye.

While in-game top-ups are optional, alliances, events, and teamwork are meant to help all players enjoy the journey.
