Pretty useful even if not perfect

I agree with the other review that sometimes it picks the wrong temperature number or misses some of the symbols. I just started using the search and edit feature. it would be nice if you could search for symbols and read what they say without adding them to your camera results.

But it still helps me a lot to have all of the symbols in one place. I wish there was a way to do the search and get to the results without having to swipe the window down, because I think if it doesn’t find something with the camera, it won’t actually allow you to see the instructions from a manual search.

Having said all of that, even with having to do a couple searches and lock manually, at least I have an easier way of helping myself figure out how to wash various types of clothes correctly.

Implementation, at least for me, is… inconclusive. The app opens up to the camera on my SE2, and mis-reads the labels pretty consistently, especially temperature numbers. Then when I search for what they mean, it doesn't give me information.

When I just search for the symbols, I can select them, but no information appears. I don't know if the app has borked, but you really need to look at it in 2023. Time for an update.

Great potential, Needs updates in 2023

This app is such a great idea and a great resource for quickly finding more details on the many laundry symbols. As of 2023, the camera “live view” implementation is fairly grainy and has a very hard time focusing close up even when using newer iPhones with the macro capabilities (this app seems to only utilize the main camera lens). Since focusing on regular size tags is so difficult even in great lighting, the app often misrecognizes the labels and I have to search for the symbols manually.

Additionally, it would be great to be able to search symbols by the number shown inside the Wash symbols (eg typing “30” in the search box would show each of the Wash symbol variations that include the 30° C in the symbol).

Overall it’s still a helpful resource but needs some work and would be a much more usable tool.
